Chapter 10

~~Jack’s POV~~

“Dammit!” I hissed as I kicked Skye’s unit door.

I was pissed at myself for not asking her if she had brought her keys so that I could practically be placing her in her bed now. Plus, I did not want to wake her up from her ‘nap’ that she was in since she worked for the school from sunrise to sunset.  

I was carrying her bridal style and I was afraid that the jerking motion of my legs would wake her up from her slumber.

I sighed as I looked down at her and the consideration of taking her home popped into my mind. 

“Explain to her when she wakes up,” My wolf whispered softly to me. “Mates understand each other, remember?”

“Yeah, well, last time I checked, she almost rejected us if it wasn’t for my pathetic begging and pleading to give us one more chance. I’m not sure if she even wants us as a mate,” I sighed and glanced down at Skye. I didn’t want to say that but it slipped out of my mind and my wolf snarled, not wanting to hear that either.

“Our bonding’s not even complete either. Also the fact that mating season is approaching and I’m afraid that the others might jump on her,”

I started to walk down the stairs, making up my mind that I’ll just let her sleep in my bed for the night while I’d spend the night on the couch.

“Skye can take care of herself when someone jumps on her,” My wolf said as he turned away.

“It’s not that… it’s another fact that when the season approaches, the animals become three times stronger than usual and I’m afraid that she wouldn’t be able to push them off. You should know that,” I said to him as I entered the night again and Skye stirred in my arms.

“Yeah, well. At least I’m a good little dog and I don’t take over your body just so that we can have ‘pleasure’ time’,”

“Are you serious? You practically take over me almost every night just to fuck a girl,”

“A wolf has its needs, Jack.” He said smugly.

“It’s like mating season for you every day,”

“Don’t deny it, Jack. You enjoy the moments in bed,”  

A guilty feeling sank into me as I frowned. Yeah, I did enjoy those moments… I’m not gonna lie. But everyone has escapes, right? I guess sexual attraction is mine.

 No, I knew it was mine and I despised myself for that.

Why can’t my escape be something like taking care of bunnies or playing sports?

But noooooo It just had to be sexual references.

I sighed and walked into my apartment.

Pressing my back against my door, I pushed it open and the lights flickered open.

Who said that an old and ran down apartment can’t have some modern improvements?
