Chapter 15

~~Skye’s POV~~

Daniel and I had arrived back at the school before sunrise and we immediately reported towards Woods who have a huge smile on his face. He praised us and all that shit before dismissing us from his office.

“Well, that was fun,” Daniel rolled his eyes sarcastically.

“Tell me ‘bout it,” I yawned, stretching as we arrived back at our room.

“G’night!” I patted Daniel’s head before discarding my dirty and worn out clothes into the laundry bin and replaced them with PJs. Falling face flat on my pillow, I faded into darkness, completely forgetting that dream about my planet I had the previous night.

---

I walked down the halls of school, rubbing my eyes every once in a while. I stopped at my locker, dumping my books in and checked my schedule. “Battle training with Ms Winger today! YESH!” I yipped in triumph and closed my locker door with a small click. I continued down my travel down the hall way, smiling.

I spotted Fara and Michael at one corner of the hallway with Fara’s back against Mike’s chest as he had his head dipped down near her ear and he whispered sweet nothings to her. Mike’s hands wrapped themselves around Fara’s waist and she laid her hands on his, tracing his fingers.

“Morning, Skye,” Sakura’s voice snapped my attention away from the love birds.

“Evening, Sakura,” I beamed. She raised an eyebrow but she shook it off, opening her mouth to say something but was interrupted as she was tackled down towards the floor.

“Who the-” Her sentence was cut short as I stared at Leo who was on top of her as he quickly covered her mouth with his hand. Scooting up, he ran down the hall way, Sakura draped over his shoulder as a victorious laugh escaped him.

“I demand you to let me go! Leoooo!!!” Sakura’s voice disappeared down the hallway and I nodded my head slowly before continuing my walk towards… wherever I was going.

I turned my head towards the corner to see Connor pressing Aqua against the walls as his head was buried deep in her neck.

Was it something I missed? Did I suddenly get un-updated when I was only away for one night…?

“Mating season. Haven’t you heard?” His voice sent shivers down my spine and I gulped.

“I-I didn’t know it started today… Jack,” I admitted, stuffing my hands into my pockets. He eventually nodded, walking side by side with me.

“Have you told them? Told your friends about you thinking that I’m not the one for you, I mean,” Jack asked it casually, making me flinch at his words. “It’s not that I don’t think… it’s just that… I know,” I chewed on my bottom lip, not sure where he was getting at.

“Do you have plans to tell them?” He pressed as I headed out of one building and headed towards the opposite one, where I had to cross a huge basketball court. “I dunno,” I shrugged, kicking a small rock that was in my way.

“Why are we even talking about this? Didn’t I say I was sorry?” I muttered, knowing that he heard me.

“Because,” he shrugged it off casually, “I’m determined,”

“More like desperate,” I rolled my eyes.

“What?” His voice was playful and teasing, taunting me to say that sentence again. I shot him a small smile.

I have to admit, I did enjoy my moments with Jack but perhaps that was… the past. “The past is the past. Drop it.” Was one of my dad’s favourite sayings and I had intentions on following that quote.
