Chapter 7
Sydney’s POV
There was a knock at the door as I was finishing brushing my long blonde hair.
“Come in?” I called as I altered my dress slightly.
“Hey we’re...” he paused as his eyes settled on me for the first time since he opened the door.
“‘Hey we’re’ what?” I said doing a little twirl. Luke seemed to be looking at me weirdly. “Earth to Luke?” I said prompting him to finish his sentence. He blinked, gulped and muttered ‘WOW’ under his breath. “Urm, we are ready to go when you are.” He said quickly.
Tonight we were all going to a party at Rosie’s. Jamie’s going to be there, and I wanted to look nice for him so I decided to go for a slightly short red dress, that hugged my breasts tightly and puffed out a bit near the waist, and small black heels. My hair was in small curls and I had decided to put on some make-up for a change. Luke was still starring at me so I waved my hand in front of his face catching his attention. “Don’t stare!” I teased bringing him back to earth.
“Sorry.” He mumbled as I dragged him out of my room. Everyone was waiting in the living room when we arrived. Emily was in a strapless black dress that came down to her knees and the boys all wore jeans and button down shirts. I couldn’t wait for this party. “Let’s go!”

I could already hear the music as we turned down the road to Rosie’s house. We pulled up a few houses away and walked down to the glowing house. When we got there, I could see many people were tipsy and the party had only been going for half an hour. They must have had some serious issues to drown in that much alcohol. Jeez!
As we walked in the door I saw a couple were making out in the corner, people grinding to the music and I could see some people round the corner in the kitchen doing shots.
“NATE!” I heard someone call. As I turned around I saw Rosie. She was swaying as she walked, indicating that she had had something to drink. It reminded me of the night my mum died, the way she came swaying into my room all happy and smiley. Nate looked slightly concerned. “Rosie, how much have you had to drink?”
She giggled, looking kind of sheepish. “Only a few cups of vodka, calm your horses, Nathan!” Rosie slurred as she came closer, wrapping her arms around my brother’s neck. “No more yet, Rosie, I’m serious I don’t want to lose you two.” Nate looked sad while he spoke. WOW! Maybe he really likes Rosie, more than I thought.
Suddenly, I felt someone grab my arm to get my attention and turned to see Luke. What did he want? I wanted to go find Jamie. “What?” I snapped. He looked confused for a bit before he leant into my ear. “Don’t take any drinks from anyone, only yourself, me or your brother’s. Got it?” Luke asked me. What? Why did he care? It’s not like we were together or anything, even though I could see the reasonable point behind what he said, I don’t understand this boy sometimes.
“Why do you care, Luke?” I asked a little stunned.
“Your my best friend’s little sister, of course I care!” He replied in my ear. Oh, OK! Now I get it. I just nodded at him. “Sure, whatever.”
With that I turned and walked through all the people, when I felt and arm go around my waist and someone held a drink in front of me. “Vodka?” I heard Jamie say into my ear. Oh thank god it’s Jamie! “Yes, please.” I took the cup and drank half of it. Jamie twisted my hips a bit making my turn to face him, he was smiling.
