Chapter 28
Sydney's POV
I had to stay in the hospital for another week, just so that the doctor was able to keep an eye on me and my babies. I still couldn't believe I was having, not just one baby but two, twins. Even though I was excited, the sadness was still there. There was not much to do at the hospital throughout the week, so Luke and I decided to name our baby hero. We debated a few names, before agreeing on something. Andrew James Howell. Andrew was the oldest as far as the doctors could tell.
After the rest of that agonising week of watching films and only being able to leave bed for the toilet, I went home. The first thing I did, give Kim and Chloe the biggest hug ever. They weren't able to visit me at the hospital, my nurse was very strict on the family only rule that I'm pretty sure she made up. Telling them about my babies over the phone wasn't as fun as getting to tell them in person but at least they knew, we told each other everything.
My only problem now...school! Emma would have a field day when she hears about this, she'd shout every insult she can at me. However, I had the feeling that if I was with Luke, I wouldn't care. He wouldn't let her hurt me, with words or actions. You could say my main worry about school, is that something will happen and I'll lose another of my babies, maybe even both.
I told the girls my fears and they agreed to stay with me as much as they could. Kim, being the big mouth she is, also went and told the boys.
Now, it's Monday morning and we are all cramming into the car. Because of the pregnancy, I was able to sit up front with Luke and Dylan, while Nate had to sit in the back. Trying to stop my worried expression from showing, I looked out the window.
"It's going to be fine, Syd. You can even ask daddy over here what it's like to have a child." Luke teased Dylan, he held my hand giving me reassuring squeezes. Dylan's face lit up at the mention of his baby girl, Stella Louise Fowler. She was born on 6th April 2014, during the month I was unconscious. I hadn't met her yet, but Dylan told me he was planning to ask Ashley to have Stella for the weekend.
At first, Kim wasn't so keen on Dylan having a child with another girl, but when she met Stella she fell in love with her, apparently she looks more like her dad then her mom. "I know, but that doesn't stop me from worrying, does it? I might actually ask Ashley what it was like during her pregnancy, but she can't exactly keep a secret can she? Oh well, it's gonna be obvious anyway with the weight I've gained in my stomach."
We arrived at the school and Nate opened my door for me.Slowly, I stepped out the car, looking around me at the people standing by the school entrance. Lifting my bag onto my shoulder, I rested a hand on my stomach. An arm was wrapped around my waist within seconds and I was being lead towards the school. Taking deep breaths, I looked up at Luke to see his signature smirk on his face and his eyes scanning around us, moving my gaze to Dylan I saw his grin widen as Kim hugged him before they started walking again. Turning around to look at Nate, I noticed him also scanning the area while walking hand in hand with Chloe. Sean and Emily had already gone off to their friends.
"Calm down, babe. I told you it'll be fine, no ones going to notice...yet." Luke whispered in my ear in a calming tone. I smiled up at him and nodded, showing him that I was calm. The smiled remained on my face until I heard it.
"Has Sydney put some weight on?"
"Looks like it, mainly in her stomach, don't you think?"
Trying to keep the smile and pretend I didn't hear was hard, I could tell my smile wasn't as big as it was a few minutes ago. Peaking out the corner of my eye to look at Luke's face, I noticed his smirk was still there but his eyes were filled with worry.
When I reached my locker, I pulled out the few essentials I needed before closing it and heading to my first class.

Lunch came quickly. Picking out my lunch, which was more than I'd normally eat, I was lead towards Luke's table by the boy himself. I felt bad for not sitting with Max, James, Katie, Olivia and Amy, so I decided to text them and invite them all over during the weekend. Once I sat down, all the girls stared at the amount of food I'd bought, except Kim and Chloe. I ate it all, despite the fact that they were watching me and whispering to each other all lunch time.
I didn't care though, they didn't know that I was now eating for two other peoples growing inside me. Luke's arm was wrapped around my waist, his hand resting on the side of my expanding stomach.
I was still hungry so when he wasn't looking, I took a few of his chips. After we had all finished eating we decided to sit outside in the sunshine until the bell went. Sitting around in a circle discussed anything and everything, I was due for an ultrasound in a few weeks as I'd been pregnant for two months.
Both Luke and Kim agreed to come with me. I was quite nervous, but really excited. I was going to see my babies. I just have to wait another week or so before then. Once the bell rang, I went to my lesson. The hour passed by at an agonisingly slow pace, checking the clock every five minutes wasn't helping. When the bell finally rang, I jumped out my chair heading towards the car park. I just wanted to go home and sleep forever. I sleep like a baby at night, my back is always sore but I'm slowly getting used to it.
Walking up to the car, I see Luke talking to Emma. I slow my pace watching what happens as I continue towards the car. Luke's back is facing me but Emma can see me over Luke's shoulder. Just before I make it to the car, they both start leaning in towards each other, their lips touching for what felt like forever. Emma was the first to pull away.
"Luke?" I say, my voice quiet and raspy.
His whole body tensed as he slowly turned towards me. His eyes locked with mine. I felt the first tear run down my cheek before the rest followed.
"See you around, Luke." Emma said before walking away.
He just nodded, his eyes not leaving my face. I was about to turn and walk away when Kim and Dylan appeared next to me. I didn't look at them, my eyes were stuck on Luke's.
"What's happened? Syd, why are you crying?" I heard Dylan ask before an arm went round my shoulders. I flinched slightly from surprise and turned to see it was Kim hugging me with a worried expression. I looked at Dylan but I couldn't say anything, I simply pointed to Luke, the tears falling faster.
Dylan turned to look at Luke, seeing the look of regret on his face. "What did you do?" Dylan asked so menacingly that I cringed into Kim's side.
I finally found my voice and answered the question. "He...he kissed Emma. Right in...front of me. He wanted to...kiss her. I...I saw i...it!" I closed my eyes as the tears fell, the image stuck behind my eyelids like a poster on a wall.
As I opened my eyes I saw Dylan walk towards Luke and raise his fist.
