Chapter 9
I woke to my alarm going off. Yay, school....not! It was 7 am; I had an hour and a half to have a shower, dress, put on my mascara and eat my breakfast. I got out of bed and went into my en-suite, locking the door, turning on the shower and getting ready to get in. I spent 15 minutes in the shower just letting the warm water wake me up a tad more. After, I got out and dried myself before walking into my bedroom and picking out the outfit I bought yesterday. I put it all on and added a spiky black and gold bracelet and one with a cross on.
Then I moved over to my make-up table only putting on some mascara, making my eyelashes look longer. I decided to straighten my hair today, and before I left my room I looked at myself in the mirror and I looked nice. Different but nice. It was now about five past eight, so I walked into the kitchen to get myself some toast. After about five minutes I felt eyes on me, so I turned round to see my brothers', Emily, Sean and Luke staring at me, gawking slightly.
"Hey guys, ready to go?" I asked as I finished my toast. They all snapped their mouths shut, but their eyes stayed wide. Emily was the first to get over my new outfit. "You look hot, Syd. Is that what you got yesterday?"
I smiled at her. "Yeah, I'm thinking of wearing more stuff like this." I told her. She grinned grabbing Nate and Sean's hands and dragged them outside, so I went and grabbed Luke's and Dylan's hands dragging them out the door. We all got in the car, per the usual seating arrangement; Sean, Em and I in the back and the other three up the front. I got my IPod out of my bag and started listening to Justin Timberlake's Mirrors.
"Aren't you somethin' to admire?
Cause your shine is somethin' like a mirror
And I can't help but notice
You reflect in this heart of mine.
If you ever feel alone and
My glare makes me hard to find
Just know that I'm always
Parallel on the other side."
I sang the whole song and when I finished I looked around me to see Luke staring at me, a weird emotion was in his eyes but he blinked and it disappeared. He shook his head slightly and looked back in front of him.
We arrived at school and immediately all I could see was people. I pushed my door open and starting walked to find my friends. As I was walking I heard a lot of whistles from the guys and all the girls were whispering and pointing at me. As I got closer to my locker I saw James, Max, Chloe, Kim and Olivia waiting for me. Olivia spotted me first and her jaw dropped to the floor, causing the others to turn round.
"Ok, who in the hell are you? And where is the real Sydney Jane Fowler?" Asked Max, looking me over, shock written across his face. I grinned. "Well, it's still me. I'm just thinking of wearing more stuff like this." I stated, Kim and Chloe were smiling at me while Olivia looked as shocked as hell.
She came towards me. "Please, if you're going to change your clothes, please, oh please don't change your personality as well!" She pleaded, making me and the others laugh. "Liv, just because I'm changing my clothes a tad doesn't mean I'm going to change as a person." I told her.
She sighed in relief. "Good, I don't want you to change, Syd. You're amazing how you are!" she said in a matter-a-fact like tone. I just started laughing at her again. "Love you, Liv." I said, making her smile. "Come on, let's get to class." Max told us, pushing us a little.
I walked down the maths corridor with Chloe, to meet Kim outside our classroom. "Hey Kimmy, do the homework?" Chloe asked as we got closer. Kim's face turned to panic. "What? What homework?" Kim replied in complete and utter shock.
