Chapter 21
One whole week. It's been a week since I started dating Luke and almost every night he has slept in my bed with me. Luke's become more posessive over me this last week but I think its cute because it shows just how much he actually cares. I think through all the happy things that's happened to us over the past week. Luke's helping me with letting people touch me in a friendly way like Jesse did. Except it's better, I just can't explain how.
I turn in my bed coming face to face with a sleeping Luke. He looks so peaceful I don't want to wake him up, but I know I have to. So, I lean forward slightly brushing my lips over his, making him move in his sleep slightly, when he didn't open his eyes I leaned in again and gave him a longer kiss. He eyes fluttered but didn't open so I ran my hands up his bare chest as I kissed him one last time. I knew when he woke because his arms tightened around my waist and he started to kiss me back.
"Hmmmm, morning to you too, star." Luke said in a husky voice after we seperated from the kiss. I smiled up at him before moving my arm from around his neck and trying to get up. I started giggling as I said, "Babe, let me get up. I need a shower!" I continued trying to get free until his arms tightened around me, making sure I couldn't move a muscle. Luke looked at me suggestively.
"Can I join?" He asked in a teasing tone. I slapped him lightly on the arm, knowing he was only joking. We hadn't gotten that far in our relationship. We only made out and removed our tops because I was still slightly scared of going all the way. He appreciated that I wasn't ready and agreed that he would wait.
I got up from the bed and walked towards the ensuite in my room. I closed the door behind me and turned the shower on before looking in the mirror above the sink. I didn't look as tired as I once had. Once the shower was hot enough, I stripped and stepped in. After my shower I dried myself with a towel and got dressed in the bathroom. When I walked back into my room it was empty but I heard faint voices in the kitchen.
I started to walk towards the kitchen. When I reached the end of the hallway I realised they were talking quieter than before now. I hid round the corner listening carefully to every word they were saying.
"We can't keep hiding these, guys. We need to show them. They are about the girls. Syd and Em have a right to know what's been going on the past two weeks." Luke said in a low voice, but it wasn't low enough as I heard every word. What were hiding from us? I heard Sean speak agreement. Nate spoke next, I could tell it was him because his voice was softer than Dylan's which was a little rougher. "By not telling them, its protecting them. Syd would freak out, everything has just got as close to normal as it can. We need to keep the letters hidden for the time being, we can't tell them yet."
Letters? Who from? What about? All these questions were swirling in my mind. I felt a tickle in my throat, my eyes went wide. I tried to make a sudden noise as I heard one last sentence before running back to my room.
"Their being threatened through letters. They have the right to know that their lives are at risk here."
I sat on my bed, thinking about what was said. Threatened through letters. Lives at risk. Who would be threatening Emily and I. The answer to that was simple. I got up and walked into Emily's room, she was sitting on her bed on her phone. "Em, I need to tell you something." I stated, she looked a me confused.
"Your not pregnant, are you?" She replied with a joking smile. I laughed slightly. "No, its something to do with what the boys. They've been keeping something from us." I started. Emily gave me an expectant look, telling me to continue so I went and sat on the bed with her. "I overheard a conversation a few minutes ago. Apparently, someone's been sending letters to the house, addressed to you and I. I heard the saying they had to keep them a secret from us. The reason being they were threats, threats of our....our l-lives." Silent tears started to fall down my cheeks.
