Chapter 14
Sydney's POV
I cheated on Jesse. How was i going to act normal around him now? It never happened! Act like it never happened. "Omg! Sydney, breathe." Chloe ordered as me, her and Kim walked through the school halls. I haven't seen Jesse yet today but I'm freaking out. What if I blurt it out. Jesse was a great guy, he would never cheat on me or harm me in anyway.
As we walked through the school I saw Jamie and immediatly froze, Chloe and Kim took a few more steps before realising I wasn't in between them anymore. They both turned to look at me before looking in the same direction I was. I could tell the minute they spotted him because both their heads whipped round to face me with worry at the same time.
"It's ok. Just ignore him, we can walk past." I said walking up to them. They hesitated for a minute before walking slightly behind me. Suddenly, an arm wrapped around my shoulder's. "Can't have you walking past him without some muscle!"
As I look at the owner and saw Max smiling down at me. I smiled back and walked with a little more confidence. I felt Jamie's eyes on me as the four of us walked by. I was thankful Max appeared otherwise that may of ended badly. We kept walking towards our locker's which were luckily all in one line. It went Chloe, James, Me, Max and Kim. That's how we all met. Then we met Amy, Olivia and Katie one day, we decided to help them out since they were getting bullied.
As we neared our lockers I noticed James already at his. All four of us approached and opened our lockers at the same time. "Hey girls? Wanna come over tinight? We could have a movie night?" I asked Kim and Chloe. They both looked at me and smiled. "Sure!" They both replied in unison. I smiled to myself and we all closed our lockers at the same time. That was kind of normal for us.
We all walked away, Max and James in the front and us three girls in the back. As we turned the corner, I spotted Jesse walking up the hallway. I nudged Kim and pointed at Jesse. I'd told her and Chloe about last night. She gave me an incouraging look. As I looked back at Jesse I noticed him looking at me and walking in my direction. I smiled slightly, still a bit scared of what I might say or do?
"Hey gorgeous. You alright?" Jesse asked as he got near. My smile widened. "I'm fine baby, how about you?" I asked, trying to keep my breathing steady so I didn't faint or anything. He smiled down at me as he turned grabbing my hand and starting to walk with us. "Yeah I'm alright, babe."
"Good."
We walked through the doors leading to the lunch courtyard outside where I spotted Luke, Dylan and Nate sitting round a table with Rosie, Emily, Sean and a bunch of the football team. Luke looked up and our eyes locked for a second or two. I felt my cheeks heat up slightly, before feeling guilt was over me as I turned back to Jesse.
More guilt filled me as I looked up at Jesse's calm, clueless face. All the memories from last night came flashing back into my mind, as I looked at Luke again. His eyes were still on me. As we reached the center of the courtyard, we all stopped and formed a little circle. "I'll see you guys at lunch. Me and James have English first." Max said. James said his goodbyes and they both both left. Jesse said his goodbyes and left for science, so I turned to Chloe and Kim. "Let's go."
We turned towards the math building and started walking towards the building. Out of no-one, Emily appeared in our little line we had formed. Emily was in a the younger maths class, but she always walked with us anyway. Shortly after Emily's appearence, Luke, Dylan and Nate appeared. "Hey guys. We didn't have any homework did we?" Dylan asked as he slung his arm around Kim.
"I don't think we did." I answer as we walk up the stairs to the doors.
Luke comes up to me next and slings his arm over my shoulder. "How are you and Jesse? Any lovers tiffs? Or any run ins with Jamie?" I stiffened at the last question.
