Ryan's pov:
Monday always brings cold shivers down my spine. It's always the day I have music, which collaborates with the beautiful idea that I have Lyida in my music set.
Don't get me wrong, she's great at music. Unfortunately for me and others, she has a talent at it, a natural. And futhermore, Lydia excels every music lesson.
Whilst we have to perform in front of our peers in our nervous state.
We're all anxious, nervously awaiting our performance. Just to get it over and done with.
Lyida on the other side of the book, is not afraid to perform. Not afraid of most things to be honest.
Only stage fright.
Which is what I tried my best to help her with......it didn't work. I guess my talents just don't mix with a girl's talents.
Opposites don't attract.
"Hey Ryan, you hear that?"
I spin my head around, immediately encountering my friends Sam and Eddy down the south corridor. The music corridor. They both hold their folders and shit. Almost symmetrical - like.
"Oh...hey you alright?" I respond with my eyes widening.
"Now that we hear that amazing music............yeah.'
Amazing music?
"Oh yeah, I can here it too, coming from over there right?"
"Yeah! Let's check it out man." Eddy states.
So we do, heading the opposite direction I was planning to in the first place. Arriving at the source of this unique sound, we nudge past other gazing students, staring deeply into the window of the blue door frame.
"It's.....Lyida--
And others." I reply.
My body receives shrieks whenever someone mentions that painful name into my ears. The never - could - be relationship.
Minutes later after admiring the beautiful sounds and voices coming from within the music room, I decide to erase the tension of holding me backwards away from her.
"I'm going in."
I state.
"Woah...you can just walk in?" Sam asks.
"I don't care if I can't, I'm going in anyway."
"Well we're coming with you Ryan."
"Sure." I say.
Opening the door, I then continue to accept the blank faces from other students. Whilst they pause their duets and potential songs, we stand there like a right muppet.
"Oh, Ryan Sam and Eddy, you here for music club?" Mrs Bellow asks, again stating the obvious.
"Yeah. Can we join?" I ask, my insides boiling up in the waves of pressure surrounding me of embarrassment.
"Yes of course........you lot play an instrument I gather?" She asks.
"Yeah! I play an electric guitar and bass. I don't know what Sam and Eddy play, but mind....mind if we join?"
"Sure, just sit yourself over there, and give us a taste of what you can do!" Mrs Bellow points over to the small corner, behind everyone else.
Once I sit down, I fetch myself an electric. A rare fender jaguar guitar. One of the beauties of this world. Luckily our school can afford this. Normally they cost a fortune due to many rockstars playing them.
"What are you, Kurt Cobain?" An emo asks me.
Kurt Cobain played the fender jaguar, what a coincidence.
"Pff, as if. I don't create that great music like he did." I state.
Well it's true.
I don't.
"Let him play Sam....let him play."
Lydia shouts.
