Just a quick reminder guys, chapter twenty will be an important chapter, that you definitely will not want to miss!Ryan's pov:
The next day, I was casually sitting in the green park, babysitting my sister, until a sight occurred my attention.....
It was Lydia........swinging on the swings, and typing something presumably to a friend, on her phone - I guess anyway. But what really caught my attention, despite her beauty (god I sound like an old retired author I know) was that she was.......alone. No friends, no one....just herself swinging on the swings like a depressed teenager.
Something inside of me boils up, commanding me to do something; to go over and talk to her. To grow a pair of balls and resolve this disastrous mess I've tangled myself and Lydia into.
So, I man up and grow a pair of balls....-......I make sure my sister playing on the frames and play area is alright, and start to walkover to Lydia. My shoes turn red, whilst my laces become more untangled the more I move towards Lydia.
When I arrive at her, sitting on the swing, her head twitches up to me and instantly drains her eyes to the colour of red, - the devil's colour.
The look on her face surprises me, what are you doing here?
"Lydia.....I think it's best we make this whole mess......s-stop." I recite, as if I was planning this day would happen, and remembering the speech written two whole days ago.
"Ryan you've done enough damage, please just leave before I do." She answers.
"So...you don't want this whole melancholy and tsunami of anger and hatred towards each other stop?"
"I-I do Ryan, believe me, I do fully. But it's not as easy as tha--
Trust me, I know you've had bad experiences with love in the past.....Alex.....but we can make this work!" I interrupt her.
For a moment, I thought she would up on and leave since I brought up the memory of her ex Alex, but for some reason, she remained glued to the swing.
The swing stopped swinging.
"Can we really make this work......us being friends?" She asks.
"Y-Yes we can! We can make this work 100%! If only you were to trust me.......you do trust me right? Lydia?" I question.
During the one minute silence, her mouth perches and slightly opens every few seconds to say something, but she can't.......the silence pains me.
Then, a miracle happens - she speaks. "N-No......I don't trust you one bit Ryan Quinn.....but I'll give you one more chance to not screw things up."
YES! The whole pilgrimage for Lydia to regain my trust and friendship has worked! It's finally over.....and now I can rest knowing that peace surrounds me and her. And as if I'd climbed a HUGE MOUNTAIN, I let out a breather......inhale and exhale.
"Thank you Lydia Crofton, you have really---
BUT...on one condition." This time, she interrupts me.
"Sure, okay I can deal with one condition!" I say back.
"That we don't fall in love........"
