-CALEB POV-

“Captain!” I heard him before I saw him.

Josh, my vice-captain and best friend, came running up to Alexa and I, who were relaxing under the shady tree.

“What’s up?” I asked, slightly irritated at his interruption.

“We have a meeting in five, remember?”

“Oh shit!” I exclaimed, standing up immediately, leaving Alexa trying to hold in her laughter.

“Who’s forgetting meetings now?” she teased, referring to the first meeting we had with the Principal.

“Whatever. I’m sorry Lexa, I gotta go,” I sighed, turning away from her and following the brown haired boy.

“You have got it bad Evans,” Josh joked as we hurried to the basketball courts.

“Shut up Ashford,” I smirked, punching him in the shoulder.

-ALEXA POV-

I was chewing on the last bit of my sandwich when suddenly, I felt something cold dripping down from my hair to my neck.

I turned around, half expecting the Barbie bitches to be behind me. True enough, there they were, faking looks of horror.

“Oops, sorry!” Kristy said, faking a look of shock and sending the gaggle of girls into high-pitched giggly laughter.

I was frozen in a state of shock. Jerkily, I lifted my hand to touch the liquid dripping down my shirt and realized it was milk.

Regaining my composure, I stood up and pushed past the Barbies in search for the nearest toilet.

“Damn it! This is just great,” I swore, groaning when I saw the state of my white shirt.

“Note to self, never wear a black bra under a white shirt,” I muttered, not bothering to try wringing out the milk in my shirt.

Fishing out my phone, I contemplated calling Caleb, but decided against it and dialled Riley instead.

“Hello?” Riley chirped happily as always.

“Hey Ri,” I answered, unable to keep the gloom from my voice.

“What’s wrong?” she exclaimed, picking up on my mood instantly. “I’ll kill him.”

I was glad to have such a protective friend, a true friend who would do anything for you and whose voice could cheer you up instantly.

“Nothing’s wrong, relax. It’s started again, and I need a clean shirt. I’m in the toilet next to the cafeteria.”

After assuring me she’d be there in a minute, I hung up and sighed, leaning against the cold hard wall, reminiscing the times from two years ago. Two years ago I was happy. And I mean over the moon and in love kind of happy.

Alexander was more than great, he was perfect and I had never felt so in love with anyone before. Of course, the bullying started once Samantha heard I was with the school’s heartthrob.

This milk thing? Practically chicken feet compared to the other horrifying things they did to me.

The loud crash from the door slamming open jolted me from my chain of thoughts.

“ARE YOU OKAY?” The crazy strong girl grabbed both sides of my cheeks and squeezed, ever so gently.

Not.
