I woke up with a start the images of my dad dropping my mums lifeless body flashed before my eyes. I got up of my small bed and stretched the sun shone through the old curtains that were up when I got here I can't buy new ones the money for training to go in the hunger games is keeping me alive but only just so I can't afford even the smallest luxuries. As I got changed I thought about how Violet was coping now that I had left her feeling my eyes fill with tears I quickly push the thought to the back of my mind. It's 7:30 now so if I walk fast I'll be able to walk with Casey to the training centre. I step out into the street as the cool morning breeze hits my face I think of Vi probably cooking breakfast for her father yes he isn't mine anymore.
I set of walking quickly towards Casey's house which was only a few streets away from my small house that was going to be demolished until I said I'd have it. Reaching Caseys house I knock on the door which is immediately opened by a sleepy looking Casey. (only she and her mum know about me actually being from district 2) As I walk inside I am sat down at the kitchen table and given some bread which upon tasting could have only been made by Amber who baked bread better than her mother. After finishing my food I thank Mrs Ellen (Caseys mum) and we set of to the training centre. "Any luck finding a job." Says Casey as we pass the lake. "No did you hear about that little girl that nearly drowned in the lake last night." I say quickly changing the subject. "No who saved her?" Casey asks a look of puzzlement on her face "Don't know so how did your date go with Finnick." I ask suppressing a smirk. "Good wait who told you." Casey says the look of puzzlement back on the face. "Amber." as we turn the corner the training room comes into view we stand looking on at the crazy scene in front of us Finnick is surrounded my women sharing their thanks with him. As we walk closer to the scene I hear a women say to another slightly smaller one "he saved my niece you know she was drowning in the lake and he saved her." Realising she ment Finnick we hurried towards where he stood.
"Hey." Casey says as we walk over too him "what's going on?" "I was the one that saved that girl!" He said the excitement in his voice. As I was about to congratulate him Casey shouted "I do know why your excited that girl could have drowned!" And with that she stormed of into the training centre.
