Breakfast is weird. Everyone at the Aphrodite table keeps giving me weird looks. So I quickly gobble down my bacon and eggs and go back to the cabin early to get ready for today's schedule.
***********I'm really lazy and don't want to write about all this stuff that doesn't involve Percabeth**********
It's only been a week, yet Camp Half-Blood has already tired me out. And now, I have to participate in Capture the Flag. I'm so exhausted I entertain the idea of hiding out somewhere till it's over. But apparently that's what a ton of my aunts and uncles do. So I'm not going to do that...
After dinner Chiron announces the teams. It's the Athena cabin versus the Ares one. Apparently this is the case most of the time. And looking at Clarisse and hearing Annabeth, let me tell you that I sure can believe it.
"The Zeus, Aphrodite, Poseidon, Hermes, Nemesis, Morpheus, and Hecate cabins are all alliances with Athenian cabin to make up the Blue team. The rest of the cabins are alliance with Ares and make up the Red team. I will serve as battlefield medic. The forest is the boundary. Good luck." And with that the demigods were left to strategize for a half hour before the game commenced (Annabeth's been helping me keep up with mortally school worky stuff).
I must have dozed off because before I know it, Annabeth is asking us if we understand the plan and everyone's shouting "Aye!" (Who does that on a battlefield?)
Then the whole Aphrodite cabin along with some others cry "Awwwww!" as Percy swoops Annabeth into a pre-battle kiss. For a moment I'm pretty sure she's about to take his head off for distracting her, but she just pecks him on the cheek. Which causes a ton more "Awwwww!"s.
Then the conch horn sounds and suddenly even my aunts and uncles are looking serious. Capture the Flag must be a pretty big deal around here if even my part of the family look into it.
Then as everyone starts running I realize I have no clue of what I'm suppose to be doing. Crap.
"Uh." I tap Sky on the shoulder. "Where exactly am I suppose to be?"
"Defence," she tells me quickly. "I think."
Well thanks...
I turn around and see a couple of my cabin mates standing around. Okay, so I'm probably fine where I am. I notice that they all have their wicked looking swords out. Shoot. I draw mine.
Annabeth helped me pick it out awhile ago. Back on my second day of camp actually. It's celestial bronze - like every other weapon made here - and its massive. But surprisingly light. Don't ask how I manage this thing, but I actually lasted a full 30 seconds against Percy and a full 29 seconds against Annabeth. I know, I'm good.
Dang, I sound kind of like the rest of my family...
I shake my head to tune out my thoughts and focus on the task. All I have to do is protect a flag which happens to be on a tree anyway.
This is going to be simple.
That's when I a feel a klunk on the side of my neck. I've got time to think, oh crap, before everything goes black.
Me again. Sorry about the slow updating. Writer's block. Hate that stuff. I literally spent all of Math and Science class dreaming up the weirdest plot lines for this book. Like even weirder than they are now. I don't really know what's going to happen. If you have ideas, comment. You guys are my BAEs. (Is it possible to have more than one BAE?)
