Chapter 6

My eyes flickered open and closed immediately, the light of the morning hitting my eyes. A warm, long arm was wrapped tightly around my waist, pulling me into them from behind. My legs were tangled with a pair longer than mine. A warm breath touched the exposed skin on my neck, giving me goosebumps I could not explain to myself. The room was filled with her scent, a musky rose scent...it was....intoxicating. It somehow felt so natural to be wrapped around each other like this, so natural to wake up next to Karlie. It's not like this with your other best friends... What is that about? I questioned myself. Pushing the thoughts away I let myself enjoy the warmth and comfort that her arms provided me. I had been so lonely, so dependent on myself that I had forgotten the security of waking up in someone's arms, forgotten the feeling of human contact. It was something I didn't realise I needed until now. Suddenly appreciating Karlie's warmth more than I did before, I slowly turned over to face her, being careful not to wake the tall brunette beside me. Shifting slightly, karlie stayed asleep as I turned over, the disruption causing her to move her long arms to pull me only closer into her. Lying still once more I layed in her arms feeling slightly confused as to why being this close to her made me so happy. Taking the opportunity while sleep overtook karlie, my eyes slowly scanned her face. Memorising the freckles on her cheeks so faint that I had never noticed before, the slight dimple she had above her left cheek, her eyelashes that seemed to go on forever. As my eyes moved down to study her lips, her long eyelashes began to flutter. Blushing I moved my eyes away from her lips quickly, moving up to her eyes which were now slowly opening. Her green irises locked into mine, staring deeply into me without a word. After at least a minute of this, karlies cheeks bloomed a shade of pink as she looked away quickly. Did she just blush? What is happening? Desperate to break the silence I opened my mouth, "good morning sunshine" I spoke softly. Her mouth moved into a little smile as she quietly replied, "good morning you". We lay for a few more minutes, seemingly neither of us realising that we still had our arms wrapped around each other, legs still entangled. Oh my god shit we're still wrapped around each other... Move Taylor....but I don't want to.....OMG MOVE my mind internally battled. Reluctantly I slowly began to sit up, moving my arms from karlies waist as she released me slowly. "how are you feeling babe?" I asked softly, I didn't know how she would be today after the events yesterday which ended with her finishing off the whole bottle of wine. " I'm okay, better now I guess..." She said slowly, pausing. "Thank you for saying what you said last night Taylor... It meant a lot" she continued, I remained silent, sensing her need to keep talking. "Honestly, I know this is so terrible to say... But I sort of feel... Relieved I guess, I didn't realise how unhealthy it was to stay in a relationship purely for habit and because it was easier than having to hurt him...but I guess I didn't need to worry about that he seems to be just fine" she said with a sarcastic, bitter laugh. "Karlie" I said leaning towards her and looking into her eyes, "fuck him. He's an asshole if he thinks he can say those things to anyone let alone someone as precious as you, obviously he didn't see what was in front of him" I said to her, my words full of meaning. Karlies eyes moved to her hands sitting in her lap, a small smile on her face. Reaching over I placed a hand on karlies arm, not sure how she was feeling, at the contact her eyes reached mine and were filled with tears. "Aw Karlie please don't cry, you deserve so much better" I said softly, rubbing her arm. "It's not him, im just happy I have you, I don't know what I would do without you Taylor" Karlie says shyly, looking back down at her hands. Moving across the bed I embraced the younger girl in a tight hug as I kneel my knees on the bed. After a few more moments I pull away, sporting a slight blush on karlies cheeks once more. What does this mean..stop Taylor nope not thinking about it she is your best friend I told myself. "What's your plans today?" I asked her, trying to change the subject desperately, "well I have to go to a shoot at 12 and that goes until 2 and then I'll go to the gym and that's about it, what about you?" She said with a smile. "Nothing really, where are you staying?" I asked curiously, her face seemed a little unhappy as she said "oh some random hotel". "Well miss kloss I have a proposition for you, why don't you bring yourself over here after the gym, you can shower here and a fabulous afternoon shall be had and I'll make us dinner" I said enthusiastically. Her eyes brightened considerably, "I would love that Taylor, I missed you" my cheeks were the ones which blushed this time. "Anytime sunshine, come have dinner and if you want to..." I said nervously trailing off "what Taylor?" She asked curiously, "we could have a sleepover if you want, in fact..uh..karlie why don't you..um..juststayherewithmefortheweekimeanifyouwant" I blurted out quickly, my nerves getting the better of me. She giggled and said "well that wasn't English so maybe lets repeat that slower" a smile of pure sunshine taking over her face. "Karlie would you like to stay here this week, we can have a sleepover every night and get to spend some time together instead of you having to go back to 'some random hotel'" I said, slower this time. Karlie blushed deeply and it was her stammering this time "oh..Taylor...I would love to but...I don't want to...only if you want... I don't want to intrude on your space" I grabbed her hand in my own. "Karlie, I want you to, I've been so lonely, and I missed you so much, please stay with me" I said in a small voice. "I would love to Taylor" she said with a huge smile, squealing I tackled her in a hug, falling back on the bed "this is going to be the best week ever!!!".
"I'll see you later, bring your stuff back here after the gym!" I said, hugging the model as she left to go to her shoot. Walking back into my apartment I connected my phone to the speakers and clicked "backseat freestyle" once more. Yelling the fast rap lyrics I ran around the house, dancing as I cleaned up from the night before and smiled to myself thinking of the week ahead. This was Karlie and I's week.
