As we drive Robin never lets my hand go, he rubs small circles on the top of my hand. I try to break the silence, "So where are we going?"
He looks at me before darting his eyes back on the road, "That milady is for me to know and you-"
"to find out" we say at the same time. "Why are all your dates always so secretive?" I question slightly annoyed.
"Not all of them milady, only the best ones." I smile as I think back to our first date. It was so romantic, and it makes me wonder what he has planned this time.
The car comes to a stop. I look out the window and see the glowing sign, "The ballroom?" I question. I've heard of this place many times actually. My friends have invited me a couple times. Its similar to a club but a bit different. There are four different rooms. One that plays 'old school' music, one that plays country, pop, and one that plays a decent mixture of everything from country to salsa. In each room is a restaurant that serves food based on the style of the music. For instance in the country room they serve things like fried chicken and french fries. "Were going dancing?" I question slightly nervous.
"That was the plan." he says pulling the keys out of the ignition. "Unless you don't want to of course-"
"No, no, I'm fine." And I plaster a fake smile across my face. My mind races to find an excuse to not go dancing. "But I'm not wearing the right shoes." And we both look down to my black four inch heels.
"That will not be a problem milady," he says while reaching in to the back seat and pulling out two pairs of shoes. "I got your flats, and your smaller heels."
"Oh, thanks honey." I say shakily while grabbing the flats. He turns to put the heels back in the backseat. "Dammit" I say under my breath.
"What did you say hun?" He says to me.
"Nothing." He narrows his eyes at me and just replies with an ok before getting out of the car and walking around to my side. He opens the door for me and holds his hand out. I place my hand in his and he gently pulls me out of the car. "Quite the gentlemen" I say while smirking.
"Anything for her highness" He says to me while gently kissing my lips. It was a quick kiss but still had meaning. We walk in to the building and approach the woman at the podium.
"How many?" She asks, pen in hand.
"Two please." Robin says.
"ID's please" she says now looking at her computer. We both hand her our ID's and she writes down our names. "And will you be dining with us tonight?"
"Yes we will." Robin replies back.
"Which room?"
Robin looks at me. "How about the mixed room?" I suggest while shrugging my shoulders at him.
"Sure why not?" He says turning back to the woman at the podium. "We'll take the mixed room please."
"Okay perfect" and she scribbles on the paper. And which rooms would you like to dance in?"
Robin answers immediately, "The country, mixed, and pop."
"Lastly would you guys like to rent a cubby for three dollars to store personal items for safe keeping."
"Yes please" Robin says back to the woman.
"Okay your total is sixty-five dollars and eighty eight cents."
"Robin that really expensive." I say grabbing his arm.
"Milady its our anniversary I want it to be special. And we have the money."
I take a deep breath, "Okay" I say stepping back from him. He hands the woman his debit card. We leave and I hear her holler "Have a fun time you two!" And we walk over to our cubby. He slips the coat off my shoulder and places it inside along with his own. "Would like me to take your purse milady?" He asks me.
"Yes please." I say slipping the strap from my shoulder and handing it to him.
"Shall we?" he asks me reaching his hand out.
"We shall."
