Star's POV

Today is the day that Jackie will never forget. I am going to tell her exactly what I think about her. She makes me so mad sometimes.
I got out of bed and quickly got dressed before going to wake Marco up.
I walked to his room and pushed the door open. I looked to his bed and saw he wasn't there. Where could he be? I felt someone tap on my shoulder and I let out a weird scream-like noise. "Woah, Star, calm down! It's only me!" I heard Marco's voice say. I turned around and took a deep breath in. "You almost gave me a heart attack!" I said with a laugh. "I'm sorry!" He apologised and smiled. "You should've seen your face, though..." He teased and pulled a face. "Very funny wild man... C'mon let's go eat!" I said and pulled him downstairs.
I put two bowls of cereal on the table and went to get the milk.
I sat down and started eating my breakfast. "You're in a hurry today, Star, it's only 6 am you know..." Marco said and raised an eyebrow. I almost spat out my cereal. "6 am?!" I asked loudly. Marco chuckled. "Yeah... 6 am." He said and ran a hand through his hair. "You're up very early." I said and looked at him. Marco's smile faded away. "Uh, yeah... I couldn't sleep further." He said and poked his cereal. "Is this about Jackie?" I asked and put my hand over his. He looked at our hands and turned his hand so he could intertwine our fingers. "Maybe." He said while avoiding eye contact. "I'm going to throw a rock at her face." I huffed and let go of his hand. "Just leave her alone, Star." He said and gave me a sad smile. "No, Marco. She's the reason you're sad. I hate seeing you like this. You don't deserve to feel like this." I said with a frown. Marco pushed his cereal bowl away and rested his head on the table. "I'll get over her soon enough... I just need some chill time." He said but I could hear his voice crack. I sighed and ate my cereal.

--- at school ---

I walked into the boring building with Marco next to me. I looked around for Jackie. I'm not going to just drop it.
"Okay, Marco, I'll meet up with you in a few minutes, meet me at the spot, okay?" I said and squeezed his arm. Marco just nodded and went in another direction.
I saw Jackie come in on her skateboard. Just as she aimed to pass by me, I grabbed her my the arm, causing her to fall back a bit. "Star?!" She asked with a scared look on her face. She better be scared. "You got that right." I said and pulled her upright. "What were you thinking?!" I snapped and gripped my wand tighter. "I don't know what you're talking about, crazy girl." She said in an innocent tone. "Have we met before?" She asked with a smile. "I don't know what game you're playing, but I will find out. And when I do, you are going to regret every second of it."I said and gripped her shirt. "If this is about our little Marco, don't even think you're going to accomplish anything. He is like a mindless slave to me. But you didn't think I really liked him? Did you? Oh what a pity. So dramatic. Wake up, princess, this is real life! Not one of your silly little fairy tales!" She said and shoved me against a wall. "You're a snake, Jackie." I said and rubbed my arm. I absolutely hate her now. She skated on as if nothing happened.
I have to find Marco.
I walked to our usual meeting spot, but Marco wasn't there. Oh lovely!
I got ready to go look for him, but the bell rang, signaling us to go to class. At least we were in the same class.

I went to class as quick as I can and sat down, waiting for Marco to show up. He walked in with a few of the last students and he had a smile on his face. I don't even want to know why.
He sat down and didn't even look at me. What is going on?!
I got my books out and kept glancing over at Marco. He was too caught up in his daydream to even pay attention. There is only one explanation for this; Jackie.

--break time--

I sat next to Marco and he ate the disgusting goop they served him. "Marco what's going on?" I asked after some time staring at him. He looked at me and stopped smiling. "Nothing." He said and looked away. "Are you mad at me?" I asked. "Is there a reason why I should be?" He asked and looked back at me. "I don't know, that's why I'm asking." I said and frowned. "Stop being childish, Star." He said in a rude tone. "I'm not being childish! You're the one who's being rude!" I scolded and crossed my arms. "Well no, I'm not mad at you, now get over yourself." He said and that's when I lost my mind.
I got up and hit the table. "After all that I've done for you, this is how you repay me?! Well I'm sorry for being a concerned friend, okay?" I shouted and stormed to the bathroom.
I entered one of the stalls and I couldn't hold back the tears.
