Getting Ready For War

Star's Pov

It was bedtime in the kingdom of Mewni, all the servants went to their quarters and my parents went to their room. Marco stayed in mine as we waited for his room to get prepared.

I sat down on my giant bed and looked at the paintings against the walls. I missed home really much.

"What are you thinking about Star?" Marco's voice echoed. "Nothing..." I replied softly. He sat on the ledge by my window and looked out to the village.

My gaze rested on the way the moonlight made his hair glow a light shade of blue and made his hoodie look purple. Mewni is a magical place.

My thoughts drifted to the current problems and I took a deep breath. I didnt know what to do. I didnt know if we will be fine. I didnt know if we would make it out alive.

One of the servants stepped into my room. "The apprentice's room is ready your highness." The servant said with a bow. "Thanks Jeffrey. Take Marco to his room. Goodnight Marco."
Marco stood up and followed the servant to his room. My lights went out and I closed my eyes.

A sleepless night lies ahead.

Marco's pov

The servant took me to my temporary toom. It was a huge place, Nobody would be able to use this much space! The cleaning must take hours!

I admired the soft sheets and touched the smooth white walls. "T-thank you... I love this room!" The servant bowed and left me in the room.

I walked to the massive window and looked at the village with its lights. Mewni is beautiful.

My thoughts drifted to Star. We have gotten so close over the past months. I thought about the funnest moments we had together. How we got hurt together, how we got into trouble, how we were there for each other. Star never judged me... Star was thete for me since the very first day. I messed up badly. I thought about the old lady and what she said to me. Star is home. Star makes me comfortable. Star is the one who protects me. Jackie is the cause of this trouble and Jackie is to blame for this. I messed up badly. I knew it. I've spent nights on end awake with Star. The conversations we had when we were tired. I threw that all away for a girl who was easy to get. I felt like a dingus.

I sighed and walked to the bed. The moment I laid down some tears escaped my eyes.

Star grew up here. Every scar she has she got in this world. It was special to me.

I turned on my side. I was in love. Intook it for granted. I see what she means now. Star loves me.

The next morning

Star's Pov

I woke up extremely early. Even before the servants and went to the military quarters. Today we would have military training. I was nervous, we dont know what we are up against with these creatures.

I wrote down my notes of the creatures and didnt dare to touch the weapons. I left the quarters and strolled through the halls. I walked past Marco's room. He was sitting on the bed and staring out of the window. I stepped inside. "Good morning my dearest." I said and he turned and smiled at me. "Good morning Star." I smiled and walked to his bed.

"How did you sleep?" I asked. He shrugged and looked at his legs. "Not too great... I feel stressed." I stroke his hair. "Dont worry about this all... Everything is going to be ok Marco... I promise." He took my hand and pressed it against his cheek. "Star, is there going to be a fight?" He asked and I pulled him to me to hug his head against my tummy.

"Yes Marco... But we will be ok..." I felt him take a breath in. "Im sorry for everything Star." I stayed quiet for a while. "I am not mad at you..." He hugged me back and we stood that way for a while. "Marco, just remember this.. Id die for you..." His breath shuddered and he hugged me tighter. "Dont... say that..." He said shakily and i sat down on the bed and embraced him. "Star... I dont want you to get hurt!" He yelled and held me tight. "I cant lose you again Star! Without you I am nothing!"

"Marco... if we win... and I maybe dont make it... I want you to at least be happy with Jackie. She will be normal after this." I said and stroked his back. "I dont want Jackie, Star... I want you! Only you! Star!" He was shaking. "I know Marco... I know... I love you Marco." I said and held him tighter. "I love you too Star.

Time skip

Star's pov

Mom and Dad had a meeting with the guards and the military. They started training immediately, including me.

Training was tough, especially the part where we had to study over 50 species of monsters!

Poor Marco seems stressed, he has been keeping a diary with him since we got here. I dont want him to get hurt in the fights... So I will fight for him!!

I controlled my sword with precise skill and paper thin slices came from it.  My wand was ready for action and my muscles were screaming from intense pain...

Mom and dad seem scared. The monsters... or T.H.E.M. for short... are coming...

The castle's cannons and guns are getting upgraded. They havent been used in hundreds of years... Ever since the great Mewnian war...

The soldiers are big... the warnicorns are BIG! and the Mewnian tanks and cannons are even bigger. I look like an ant compared to them!

I walked to my room after training and fell asleep on the bed. My dreams were that of a horrified child...
