It was a typical Thursday afternoon. Luke was watching television with me and my mom was on Facebook. All of a sudden mom gasped and gave me her phone. The first words I read were " Two teens killed in car accident in Chipman". My heart stopped beating for a second. Who was it in the accident? Nick? Kaiden? Anyone else I knew? I grabbed my phone and texted Nick and asked him if he was okay. There was no answer. So, a few minutes later I tried texting again and there was no answer. Half a hour had gone by when I started sobbing. As the tears began to roll down my face I glanced at my phone only to see it ringing. It was Nick's number calling me. I knew it was going to be him with good news or his parents with bad news. I walked to my bedroom, answered the phone and there was a quick moment where I thought it was for sure bad news. "Hello... Shianna are you there?" "OMG Nick you are okay!" A sigh of relief came out and I busted into tears. He replied by saying "I guess you could say I am okay... I knew them both Shianna...they were my friends." I could not belive what he said. After we both calmed down Nick had to go because one of his friends was there to check on him.
It was now Friday. I knew Nick wouldn't want to talk about what happened and I knew what he was going through because I just finnished going through it. I could not imagine loosing 2 friends on the same day. When Nick got to the campground he said he had to go see some of the other people but he would be back to see me at 7.
Serena, Nick, and I were walking around when, Nick said he wanted to go sit down. There was a fence that had been pushed down from all the snow we had had during the winter, so we went and sat down on it. Serena sat at one end of the fence and Nick decided to sit on the other side. I walked over by Nick and laid down on the fence. We played some music on my ipod then Serena got up and left. All of a sudden Nick started quietly singing "Stay with me by Sam Smith". I had never heard him sing before but he had the voice of an angel. After he noticed I could hear him singing he stopped and we began talking. An awkward moment arrived when we stopped talking, so I pulled out my cell phone and had to sit up for a second. "Come on lay back down with me" Nick said. As I went to lay back down I could feel his arm around me. When his arm toutched my back I went into shock and sat back up. I paused a moment in shock of what had just happened then I had laid back down in hopes that he hadn't realised what had happened and his arm would still be there, but as I my back toutched the cold fence I could feel that his arm wasn't there anymore.I knew I messed it up big time. We talked a bit more after but things were super awkward.
It was around midnight when my parents had texted me to come back in. As Nick did every night he walked me up to my trailer, opened the gate, closed it behind him, and waited for me to go in but this particular night was different. Instead of me going right into my trailer we just stood there on my deck for a minuite under the light. I never realized how blue his eyes were until that night. He turned and began to walk away as I went into my trailer. Just before I shut the door I heard him yell back to me. "I had fun tonight". I replied by saying "Me to". "I'll see you tommrow?" "See you then" "Night" he said "Night". As I entered my trailer my heart was pounding and I wished that night wouldn't of ended.
