Chapter Seven
Kimberley's neck ached as she flicked her eyes open. The feeling of something warm, and hard lay beneath her head. It took her a minute or two to remember where she was. Turning her head, and looking up, she found Cheryl smiling down at her, causing her to shoot up. Realizing that her arms were draped across the girls thighs, she pulled them back, her face turning a deep shade of red.
"I must of fell asleep," she mumbled.
Cheryl continued smiling. She watched as Kimberley stood up from the chair beside her bed, and began stretching. "Thanks," was all she said.
The blonde looked down at her, nodding her head. "Has the doctor saw you?"
"He has . . . didn't say much though, but he did laugh at you," Cheryl giggled.
After calling the ambulance, Kimberley went with the Geordie to the hospital. While Cheryl was rushed away, she sat waiting for news. She really wanted to inform the girls family, but she had no contact details what so ever. A few hours later, one of the doctors informed her that Cheryl was severely malnourished, and dehydrated, which caused her to collapse . . . she probably hadn't ate in days, while a few sips of water, and the odd coffee every few days done her no good.
The blonde knew she would have to ask Cheryl. She would have to find out what was wrong. She couldn't just ignore what happened. Deciding to do it sooner rather than later, she began talking.
"Cheryl . . . " Kimberley started, choosing her words carefully. Sitting back down, she looked at the girl. "I know we hardly know each other, and I don't expect you delve into the depths of your personal life, but please . . . please just tell me why you haven't been eating?"
Cheryl gazed down, her hands suddenly became very interesting. "I've just not been hungry."
Kimberley knew that was a damn lie. People just don't stop eating unless there's something wrong. "But you cry everynight . . . I hear you Cheryl," she said, her gaze meeting the Geordie's. She watched, as Cheryl's head dropped, tears welling up in her beautiful eyes. Instantly she felt bad. "I'm sorry."
Lifting her hands, Cheryl covered her face with them, quietly she began to sob, making Kimberley feel even worse.
"Oh god please . . . please don't cry," she pleaded. Getting back up from the chair, she sat by the brunettes side on the bed. Gently, she took hold of the girls arms, and pulled them away, revealing her blood shocked eyes. "Come here."
Cheryl immediately responded, and wrapped her arms around Kimberley waist, burying her head in the girls shoulder. She had be suffering in silence for so long that it felt good . . . it felt good to be wrapped in someones comforting arms. As she continued to cry, her sobs growing heavier, Cheryl didn't think twice, and started talking. "My . . . my," she started.
"Go on," Kimberley encouraged, rubbing her back.
"My divorce came through."
Cheryl's family knew she was in the middle of a divorce, but she claimed to them she was fine, and she was handling it well, but the truth was . . . she wasn't.
Pulling the girl closer, Kimerberley said nothing. All she wanted to do was comfort the her . . . make her feel better.
