Chapter Fourty

Walking over, Kimberley sat down opposite him. "Get out," she said firmly, but quietly.

"Aww come on..."

"Get out," she said again, her eyes boring into his. "And don't come back."

"Don't be..."

Kimberley sighed. "There are plenty more cafes nearby," she butted in, this time her voice slightly raised, but still not loud enough for people to ear. "Now... get out!"

Finally giving in, the man got up. "Your loss," he smirked before slamming his chair under the table and walking out.

"F*ckin' arsehole," Kimberley mumbled to herself as she got up and made her way into the back. "Hello girls," she smiled, greeting the three women.

"Hey Kimba," Nicola replied, rushing by her with a full English breakfast.

Sarah looked up from the bacon she was cooking, offering a smile while Nadine walked over.

"Did Cheryl get off ok?" she asked in her Irish twang.

"She did," Kimberley smiled, holding her arms out for a hug. "I don't know what I'm goin' to do with myself, though," she giggled once wrapped in the embrace.

"Aww... I'm sure you'll keep yourself busy," Nadine laughed, rubbing up and down her back before pulling away and smiling. "We'll need to have a wee drink before you go."

"Definitely."

"See you tomorrow," Kimberley waved before shutting the door and locking it. She watched the girls until they had all safely got into their cars.

It had been a busy day for them. Business seemed to have picked up since the new offices had been build across the road.

As Kimberley began to stack all of the chairs on top of the tables, her phone rang. Without even looking, she picked it up. "Hello," she said poliety.

"What are you wearin'?" a husky voice asked.

Immediately, she pulled the device away from her ear and looked down at the display screen.

Cheryl

"Very funny!" she sighed, her heart beating out of her chest. She smiled when she heard the Geordie's familiar laugh.

"Are you wearin' a bra?" Cheryl continued to ask, using the fake voice once more.

Kimberley eventually let out a giggle. "Don't do that!" she said, shaking her head and sitting down on one of the chairs. "Is everythin' ok?"

"Aye," replied Cheryl. "I've just go in. There's no food, though. I think I'll pop down to the shops and buy some stuff."

"Yeah... what's the weather like?"

"It's still warm, but it's cooled down a bit," came the reply.

Already Kimberley was missing the girl. Getting up, she made her way into the back as Cheryl blabbed on about some trouble she had with the cases and how she was shouting at the guy. She rolled her eyes as she listened... it was so typically Cheryl. "I'm glad you got them in the end. I'd hate to think what would of happened if you hadn't."

"I'd have to walk about in the buff," Cheryl giggled.

"God help the neighbours if you did!" Laughing, Kimberley hung up her apron before slipping her coat on.

"What are you tryin' to say?" Cheryl questioned still giggling.

"Nothin' baby," Kimberley replied, trying her hardest to sound innocent. "I just don't want them seein' my girl in her birthday suit," she added.

"Aye, that's it Walsh... you twist what you really meant!"

"Oi cheeky chops," smiled Kimberley whilst reaching for her bag.

"So, what are you doin'? Are you home yet?"

"I'm just leavin' the shop as we speak," she answered, pulling the door open and stepping out into the cool night air. "God! It's gettin' cold."

"It's nearly winter soon," Cheryl said. "We'll be spendin' our first ever christmas together," she squealed, excited about the prospect.

Cheryl had always been one for the holidays. She especially loved Christmas. To her it was about family and giving, she was estatic to find out that Kimberley thought the exact same.

"Yeah... we should get both our family's down and have a massive Christmas dinner and a party!" Kimberley giggled, loving the fact that her girlfriend was excited about it already.

"Ooh my God! What a brilliant idea!" Cheryl squealed again, this time louder.

Kimberley continued to smile as she walked to the car park, where she had moved Cheryl's Porsche earlier that day. "We should..."

"Kimberley...?" Cheryl asked, noticing the girl had suddenly stopped, the line going quiet.

"Sorry," Kimberley apologized, stepping closer she examined the large scrape down the left side of the car. "Sh*t!" she cursed.

"Kimberley, what is it?"

Realising that her girlfriend could hear her, Kimberley tried to compose herself. "Baby, I need to go," she said, her voice shaky.

"Why?" Cheryl quizzed.

"My battery is about to cut out," Kimberley lied. "Is it ok if I call you when I get in the house?"

"Ok..."

"Right... bye. I love you." After cutting the girl off, Kimberley hung up. Panicking, she began stamping her feet on the ground while cursing repeatedly.

"F*ckin' prick!" she shouted, knowing who was more than likely responsible for the handy work.
