Chapter Thirty Three

"S*it!" Kimberley mumbled, her ring slipping off. Immediately she dropped the knife she was using and got down on her hands and knees, feeling about the ground for it.

"You know it's a violation of health and safety to pick food up off of the ground and do the old 'God kissed it, Devil missed it' thing," Nicola laughed as she walked into the back holding a tray of dirty plates.

"I'm not," Kimberley replied, panic setting in. "My ring slipped off my finger and I can't find it."

"Ahh!" Sarah laughed. "Your engagement one?"

"F*ck you! It's not an engagement ring!" spat Kimberley.

Nicola rolled her eyes. "Yes, Sarah, it is a commitment ring," she smirked sarcastically.

"Got it!" Smiling, Kimberley reached for it. "It was stuck in between the fridge and wall," she explained, examining it for damage.

"You shouldn't wear it to work," Sarah said. "We couldn't have you losing your commitment slash engagement ring."

Pulling a face at the blonde, Kimberley squeezed it tightly in her hand before tucking it safely away into her pocket. "I can't not wear it... it means to much to me."

"Stick it on a chain or somethin'," Nicola smiled.

Hunting through her jewellery box, Kimberley smiled when she came across one of her white gold neckleces. For years she had tucked it away, in hopes that it wouldn't get ruined, but that seemed to be forgotten about as she pulled it out, unclipping it and slipping the ring on. "There," she beamed, examining her handy work.

Collapsing on top of her bed, she sighed when the door went. "Typical," she mumbled. It couldn't have been the girls as they weren't due for another two hours.

Getting up, she made her way downstairs and over to the door. "Hello," she greeted, smiling at the man infront of her.

"I'm here to collect the..." Looking down at his notes, he skimmed over them. "Porsche."

If it wasn't for him standing directly infront of her, Kimberley would of burst out laughing. "Yup," she smiled, nodding towards the car. "It's over there."

"I need you to sign this," he said, holding out the papers. "And I'll need the keys."

Taking the pen and pad, Kimberley scribbled down her signature before reaching for the keys, which sat on the hall table, and handing him them. "I won't be here when you drop it back off," she told him. "Can I give you the address to my friends house?"

"Sure."

Kimberley smiled before giving him Nadine's address. "Thanks."

"No problem... have a good night," he replied

"Shh... guys!" Kimberley laughed, reaching for her phone. "Someone's phonin' me."

All of the girls fell silent, stiffling their giggles.

"Hi, Amy," she answered, reaching over and sitting her wine glass down.

"Hey, Kimberley. I was just ringin' you quickly to see if you were in? Me and Ben were goin' to pop over before you leave tomorrow."

Kimberley smiled. "Yeah, I'm in. Me and the girls are havin' a few drinks."

"Ok, we'll see you soon then. We're just on our way back from the Bluewater shopping centre."
