Chapter Thirty Six

"Home sweet home," Cheryl smiled to herself, walking over the threshold and closing the door behind her.

Cheryl threw her bag down onto the floor. "Baby?" she called, frowning when there was no response. Ashley was always in when she got home from work.

She walked over to the answer machine. Noticing that the small light was flashing, she pressed the play button.

"Hey baby... need to work late tonight. I have lots of paperwork I need to get finished. I'll see ya later."

"Workin' late?" Cheryl exclaimed. Ashley never worked late. She soon felt a pang of sympathy for him, stuck in an office most of the night. He'd propaply get hungry. "I'll pop down there with some food," she told herself, picking her bag back up again.

Grabbing the paper McDonald's bag, Cheryl pushed her door open and climbed out.

"Hey Leigh," she smiled to the receptionist once inside the classy building.

"Cheryl babe! I haven't seen you in ages."

"I know," Cheryl agreed, nodding her head. "The last time was at the company's Christmas party."

Leigh laughed. "Memories," she winked, remembering how drunk the Geordie was. "Anyways... what are you doin' here?"

"I came to give this to Ashley," Cheryl smiled, waving the bag around.

The blonde girl frowned. "Ashley left over two hours ago babe," she said, offering a sympathetic smile.

Smiling as she placed her bag down, Cheryl opened the mail that Kimberley had left on the hall table before heading upstairs to run herself a bath.

She sighed as she lowered herself in, the steaming hot water instantly relaxing her aching muscles. It had been a long time since she had worked so hard at the studio. "Kimberley's late," she mumbled, realising that the girl was usually in by now.

Her and Kimberley had woke early that morning to drive home, which had left her very tired. Resting her head back, she shut her eyes, casually drifting off.

"Cheryl?" a soft voice spoke, knocking on the bathoom door, causing the Geordie's head to shoot up.

"Yeah?"

"Can I come in baby?"

"Of course you can," Cheryl giggled. She smiled when Kimberley entered holding a gorgeous bouquet of flowers.

"Sorry for being late. I stopped of at Asda to get some stuff and I bought you these." Holding the flowers out, she grinned.

"Aww... you're so sweet, but what for?" Cheryl wiped a strand of damp hair away from her face, tilting her head up indicating she wanted a kiss.

Still with the flowers in her hand, Kimberley stepped closer. Leaning down, she placed a soft kiss upon Cheryl's lips. "Because I love you baby and I know how much of a romantic you are," she smiled.

"Thanks. Love you too. I'll stick them in a vase when I come out," Cheryl winked, tracing a finger over one of the flowers. Reaching up, she drew Kimberley's head back down, kissing her once more. "You should join me," she flirted.

Kimberley giggled. "I'd love too, but I need to put the shopping away and then get the dinner on."

Cheryl frowned, trying her best puppy dog eyes. It wasn't often that Kimberley refused her sex. And she could really do with letting off some steam.
