Chapter Twenty
When Cheryl had woke the next day, she was surprised to find that Kimberley had gone to work. After making some breakfast and trying to eat it, which proved difficult since she didn't have much of an appetite, she got herself ready and headed to the studio.
As the day progressed, things didn't get much better. Her head and heart just wasn't in it, to a point where she found herself snapping at the students.
By the end of the day, she felt emotionally drained. The previous night had really effected her. It was understandable why Kimberley was upset, but some of the things she had said were harsh. And what confused the Geordie more, was the comment about her being the cause of it all. How could it possibly be her fault?

After a long day of questions . . . questions about her holiday, questions about Cheryl, questions about Justin, Kimberley returned home. At first she though the house was empty, but remembered that Cheryl's car was in the driveway and made her way into the living room, where she found the girl sleeping on the sofa. Smiling to herself, she quietly walked over to the small lamp in the corner of the room and switched it on, careful not to wake her. Luckily she didn't flinch.
Relaxing on the opposite sofa, Kimberley watched the Geordie. She had such an innocent, peaceful expression on her face, which made her smile. 'Why?' she thought to herself. 'Why did I have to fall in love with her?" And that was the first time she had admitted it to herself. The bond had turned into a strong friendship, which had now turned into love, well . . . on her behalf it had. There was just something about the girl. Something that made her mind boggle and her heart race. She was the kind of person that could have her pick of anyone, she could go out, click her fingers and have her pick, yet she didn't. Although it seemed like a weird thought, Kimberley found it interesting, it was something she liked about her. It showed she was the commitment type, not the one night stand girl.
The previous night had been hard for her, she couldn't help the way she was feeling, but Cheryl didn't deserve those harsh words. It wasn't her fault at all, it was Kimberley's. She was so hung up on the fact she had someone who loved her that she was blinded to see that she didn't love him back. Yes she loved him as a friend, but she wasn't in love with him. And Cheryl was right, she couldn't force herself to love Justin. If she had done that, she could of possibly ended up unhappy for the rest of her life. Love should be give and take in a relationship, an equal balance, if not then is it real? . . . no. And that's was also made her sad, she loved Cheryl, but Cheryl didn't love her back . . . ironic really.
"Kimberley?"
Looking up, the blonde smiled at the girl. "Hey babe."
"Come here?" Sitting up, Cheryl beckoned for the girl to go over by holding out her arms. "I'm sorry," she said as soon as she had the girl in them, holding her close.
"You have nothing to be sorry for," Kimberley said, tears welling in her eyes.
"You said it was my . . . "
"Forget I ever said that," she butted in. "I was just upset and chatting sh*t. I'm the one that should be sorry and I am. The was I treated you was terrible and the things I said were horrible, I just hope you can forgive me."
"Do you think I would be hugging you right now if I didn't you silly cow," Cheryl laughed tearfully.
Pulling away, Kimberley smiled before attempting to wipe away both hers and Cheryl's tears. "Good. I promise I will never treat you or talk to you like that ever again."
"You better not because the next time you do I'll kick you're arse!" the Geordie giggled, pulling her back into a strong embrace. "I just wanted to comfort you babe, like you had with me when I was upset."
"I know you did," replied Kimberley, feeling bad. "And I'm sorry for pushing you away. You of all people understand how I'm feeling. I had no right saying you didn't. What you went through was ten times worse."
Cheryl, who didn't want to hear the girls apologies anymore, stopped her. "Shh babe. Let's just forget about it . . . ok?"
"Ok," the blonde sniffed.
Both girls stayed in the embrace a little longer before Kimberley pulled away and lay her head down on her friends lap. Flicking through she channels on the tv, she let it settle on the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
"We're only watching that until The X Factor comes on," Cheryl giggled, tangling her hand in the girls hair.
Kimberley laughed. "Ok. I don't really like the new judge anyway," she smiled.
"You don't? I actually quite like her."
"No. I prefer the one on The X Factor to be honest."
"See . . . I don't really like her." Cheryl laughed, shaking her head.
"Well . . . we can agree to disagree," winked Kimberley. Looking back at the screen, she smiled as the professional dancer attempted to dance with one of the, rather rhythmless, celebrities. "He's got two left feet, but she's amazing! I wish I could dance like that."
"I'll teach ya," Cheryl replied, her hand now stroking the girls cheek.
Kimberley looked up at her friends. 'She really is special,' she thought to herself as the Geordie smiled down at her.
