Chapter Thirty Five
Kimberley smiled as she reached over, placing her hand on Cheryl's thigh. "Are you ok, baby?" she asked, tenderly stroking the jean covered skin.
"I'm fine, gorgeous." Turning her head, Cheryl took her eyes off of the road for a brief moment to smile at her girlfriend.
"Cheryl, road!" Kimberley said, patting her thigh.
"Cheryl laughed, turning her head again. "Sorry, I just got lost in your beauty," she flirted, flicking down her indicator switch as she moved into the other lane. Ruining the moment completely, she cursed, the guy in the old battered up car behind her cutting her off. "What are ye playin' at ya fu*kin knob!?" The old man scowled as she beeped her horn "Get your glasses on old man!" she replied, pointing to her eyes.
Kimberley rolled her eyes, she had such a fowl mouth.
Cheryl, having realised the girl had gone quiet, removed her hand from the gear stick and placed it over Kimberley's, which was still lingering on her thigh. "Sorry baby," she apologized, squeezing it.
"It's ok," Kimberley smiled. "It's probably just the nerves."
"I'm not really nervous," replied Cheryl, still holding tightly onto her hand. It was a good job they were on the motorway and she didn't need to change gears. "Me mam might be a little shocked, but she's very open minded. I'm sure it won't bother her too much."
Kimberley looked out of her side window, taking in the sight of the other cars. They passed a sign indicating that they were nearing Newcastle.
"Have you ever been to Newcastle?" Cheryl beamed, reading her thoughts. She was such a proud Geordie.
"I haven't." Kimberley looked at the brunette, studying her shinning eyes and infectious smile. "Hopefully you will show me the sights of the magnificent City."
Cheryl giggled. "I was thinkin'... after we tell me mam, I was goin' to take you out to dinner in one of me favourite restaurants and then I thought we could go a wonder around the MetroCentre. I haven't seen me family in ages and wanted to get them all some pressies?"
"Sounds like a plan," Kimberley agreed, rubbing the side of Cheryl's hand with her thumb.

"Cheryl!" Joan smiled, pulling her daughter into a hug. "I've missed me baby so much."
Cheryl laughed, hugging her thightly back. "Alright mam," she Smiled.
Kimberley stood, watching the pair, a smile playing on her lips. She could see where Cheryl got her looks... she was the spitting image of Joan... petite, olive skinned, dark hair and eyes.
Joan pulled back, acknowledging the pretty girl standing beside her daughter. "Hey... you must be Kimberley," she smiled, holding out her arms to her.
"I am," Kimberley replied, walking into the woman's embrace.
"I've heard a lot about you," Joan giggled, kicking the door open wider with her foot as she pulled back.
"All good I hope?" asked Kimberley, glancing at Cheryl, who was already making her way inside.
"She hasn't said a bad word about you."
Cheryl blushed a little, although, she didn't know why.
All of the women moved inside, Cheryl leading the way to the living room and plonking herself down on one of the sofas.
"I'm shattered," she exhaled, lifting her feet so Kimberley could sit down and then placing them back down onto her lap.
Joan sat down on the opposite sofa, turning the volume on the television down so she could hear her guests. "So, are you girls stayin' the the night here?"
