Through The Dark (Liam Payne)

Chapter 8

I swear I hear something but it sounds way off in the distance. It's not stopping. I can't make it out.

"Lexi, it's morning. Lexi, Liam time to wake up." Agnes is yelling.

Wait. What?

My eyes fly open a second before Liam's do. We are still in the same position, facing each other. Our hands still locked together. I meet Liam's eyes and for a moment we just smile. Then there's Agnes again. "Are you two going to sleep all day?"

I turn to Agnes. "What time is it Agnes?"

"Nine o'clock." She says.

"Well, Agnes, that is hardly sleeping all day." I say. I catch Liam adjusting his sweats before getting up. He's still holding my hand. He helps me to get up as well, hasn't let go of my hand yet. Wait, what is he doing? He's rubbing his thumb back and forth across the back of my hand. Oh my. Agnes is saying something.

"I'm sorry, what was that Agnes?" I look down, he's still holding my hand. It feels so good.

"I said are you working today?"

I sigh. "Yes, Agnes, I'm working today. For goodness sakes we have two guests, chill. I'll be down shortly."

She nods her head and leaves the balcony.

Liam, yes he's still holding my hand, looks down at me. "I'm so sorry, Lexi. Looks like I got you in trouble."

I look up into his gentle eyes. "You didn't do anything wrong. She'll get over it. Maybe she just doesn't like Batman."

Liam starts cracking up, never letting go of my hand. I can't help but smile. He's so adorable when he's laughing this hard. It warms my heart to know that it's because of me.

"You're quite witty in the morning." Liam tells me.

"I think it's because I had such a great sleep. Thank you, Liam, that was the best night I've had in quite awhile."

Liam smiles, bends down and says quietly in my ear. "I had an amazing night with you, Lexi. I'd like to do it again." He kisses my cheek softly. My senses are awakened at the contrast between the soft kiss and his rough whiskers against my skin. He releases my hand and walks away, stopping at the door to look back and smile.

I'm not sure how but I manage to make it to my room. I take a shower, and don't judge me on this, but I don't wash the cheek that Liam kissed.
