The evening had been perfect. The fact that Liam was proud of me made my confidence in my writing soar. We had an extremely romantic dinner and then I took Liam to the bedroom to fulfill the promise I'd made earlier.

The next morning we lay in bed cuddling. "So what were you thinking about on your walk yesterday?" I ask.

He looks out the large window, at the ocean. Taking a moment before answering. Turning back to look at me, he replies. "I'll be going back to work soon." He pauses. "And I'm quite excited about it."

I love the incredible sparkle he gets in his eyes when talking about his career.

"The only problem is, I can't imagine being away from you, Lex. You brought me out of my dark time and I need you with me always. I love you, Lex."

My breathes catches with his beautiful words. "Liam, I love you too."

He smiles. "Then please come on the road with me, Love?"

I take his hand, entwining my fingers with his long ones. Somehow his large hand and my small one fit together like perfect puzzle pieces. Looking in his eyes I tell him how I honestly feel. "I don't want to be without you either, Liam. The problem is I can't just quit my job and follow you around."

Liam interrupts. "Your parents need you?"

"Actually that's not it. They did fine while I was in college and they'd be fine now. My problem is I don't want to be a "kept" woman. I need my own income."

"Lexi, you know bloody well if I helped you out with money it would not make you a "kept" woman. I love you and I want to share everything I have with you."

The sweet look in his eyes causes me to pause. "How about I think about it, and I'll let you know soon?"

"Alright." He says sweetly, then smirks. "Can I try to convince you?" He wiggles his eyebrows suggestively.

I laugh. "Yes, please convince me."

Liam dives under the covers. As I grasp at the sheet, my head falling back in pleasure, I realize his convincing just might be working.
