I show Liam to the garden. We stroll leisurely through it. "This place is amazing. I think I made the right choice coming here." He says.
I smile. "Did you just need to get away from everything?"
Liam sighs. "I love my job and I know I'm blessed, but the other lads and I decided we needed a few months off. To re-charge so to speak."
"I can imagine it must be exhausting." I say as I trip over a rock. Liam quickly grabs my arm to steady me. "Are you alright, Love?"
I look up into his eyes and try to remember how to breathe. "Yes, thank you."
He smiles and removes his hand from my arm. "You're welcome."
Can he be any sweeter? We sit on a nearby bench and Liam continues. "I also broke up with my girlfriend a few months back. We were together for quite awhile and even though it was mutual it's been a bit of a dark time."
I look at him sympathetically. "I can relate to that. I also had a long term relationship end a few months back."
Liam puts his hand on my knee. "I'm sorry."
My heart skips a beat. I try to regain my thoughts and continue. "After that and graduating from college I decided to come here to figure things out. I'm finding this is a great place to help you find your way through the dark."
Liam winks at me. He gets my song reference. "Very cute."
I smile then remember something I want to show him. "Come with me." We start walking again. Liam right beside me. I steal a glance at him and he catches me. I smile, blush and look away.
"This garden is quite lovely." Liam says.
"I agree. I'm going to show you one of my favorite places now." I say. We walk a little farther and come to the beautiful wisteria archway. "This is probably my favorite spot on the property." I look over at Liam. He's not looking at the archway, he's looking at me. "It's quite beautiful."
My breath catches. Then he looks up at the wisteria. "It's very romantic." He adds as he lifts eyebrows.
Ohhhh. I may not make it. Liam may have to carry me back to the hotel. Oh wait...that thought just made it worst.
"Lexi?"
I look at Liam. "I'm sorry, what?"
He grins. "I was saying that they smell quite lovely as well, don't they?"
I take a breath and smile. "Yes they do." We walk through the archway together. I scold myself as we do, I literally hear the wedding march in my head. Geez, Lexi what is wrong with you?
As we get to the other side I show Liam where the hiking trail is.
"That looks great. Maybe you'd want to join me on it tomorrow?" Liam asks.
Is that a hopeful look in his eyes? How could I resist. "I'd love to." I smile. "Shall we head back now for some dinner?"
Liam agrees. On the way back to the hotel Liam picks a beautiful pink flower, hands it to me. "Thank you for the walk, Lexi, I hope we can do it again?"
