The power has just come back on, however I still take the stairs. As I enter the lobby I see Agnes and Rosie whispering to each other. No doubt gossiping about me. Rosie looks up at me, giving me a wink as she walks past. Yep they were definitely gossiping about me.

I approach Agnes at the front desk. "Does everything look alright, Agnes?"

"Everything except Liam's eye. Joe let me know what happened last night." She says.

I sigh. "It was not the best part of the evening."

"I called the restaurant and told them that Josh is not to bring our deliveries anymore. I won't put up with that." Agnes fumes.

I give her a hug. "Thanks, Agnes."

She smiles. "So I gather the rest of the evening went well?"

I grin. "Yes, best night of my life."

"As long as you are sure, Lexi, then I am happy for you."

"Agnes for the first time in my life I am one hundred percent sure about something."

She gives me a hug. "Here's your prince charming now." She says. I turn around to see Liam approaching us. How is it he takes my breath away every time?

"Hello, Agnes." Liam says, then puts his hands on my hips. "Hello, Beautiful." The kiss that follows leaves me weak in the knees. He whispers in my ear. "I've missed you, all of you." I swear I giggle out loud. Liam grins, kissing my forehead.

Agnes interrupts us. "The handyman is here to check things out. He's going to check the outside first."

Liam speaks up. "I'll go help him."

I grab his arm. "Be careful out there, remember how you slipped last time?" I raise my eyebrows suggestively. He gives me a kiss on the cheek and quietly says. "Trust me, Babe, I remember."

There goes my breath again. I mean do I have this effect on him too?

Sometime later Liam walks back in the hotel with Joe, the police officer. "Hi, Alexis."

"Hi, Joe. How did everything go last night?"

"I'll let Liam fill you in. I have to head out." Joe says before turning to Liam. "Remember what I said, Liam." Liam shakes his hand. "I will, Joe. Thanks."

I put my hands on Liam's chest, looking into is eyes. "What was that all about? What happened?"

Liam looks around the room. "Do you have a few minutes to go upstairs and I'll tell you about it?"

"Yes, let's go."

Holding hands, we take the stairs up to Liam's room. We sit on the couch and I anxiously wait for him to tell me.

"Basically Joe said that Josh isn't getting the message. He still believes you should be with him. Joe held him overnight but had to let him go this morning since I'm not pressing charges. Which I really don't want to because of the publicity."

I blow out the breath I've been holding. "I understand. What did Joe recommend?"

"He said he will keep an eye on him." Liam pauses. "He also told me that if I happen to see Josh and "beat the crap out of him", he will look the other way."

My jaw drops. "What?"

Liam laughs. "Small town justice I guess."

"I just wish he would go away." I say.

Liam takes both my hands. "Don't worry, Love, I'll protect you. I promise."

The sincerity, concern, and absolute love in his eyes, brings tears to my own.
