The next morning I get ready and head straight down stairs for some coffee. I did not sleep well last night. I was consumed with dreams of Liam.
I take my coffee and head to the front desk. As I check the reservations, I see that the sweet older couple are checking out this morning and no new guests arrive till the day after tomorrow. That means Liam will be the only guest. Hmm, how convenient.
I feel strong hands on my waist and soft lips on my neck. "Good Morning, Beautiful." Liam says in a sexy morning voice.
I relax into him. "Good Morning, Handsome. Feel free to keep kissing my neck like that."
He whispers in my ear. "So you like that?" Returning to my favorite spot.
"Mmm, yes very much." I say.
"Mr. Payne!"
Liam unfortunately stops kissing my neck. "Oh Good Morning, Agnes. How are you?" He says.
"May I see you for a moment?" She asks Liam.
I chime in. "Agnes. no."
Liam kisses me on the cheek. "It's ok, Lexi." Then he turns to follow Agnes into the office.
"You look lovely today, Agnes."
"Stop the charm, Liam. Alexis is very special."
"Believe me, I know she is." He says.
"I want to make sure about your intentions. I don't want her hurt." Agnes insists.
Liam's eyes soften. "Agnes, I assure you that my intentions are only good. I'm crazy about Lexi. I've never felt like this before." Liam pauses before continuing. "I came here feeling down and expecting it would take some time for me to get out of my funk. But the minute I saw Lexi, I swear my heart got lighter."
Agnes pats Liam on the back. "I'm happy to hear that, because I think you two are good for each other."
I'm checking out the sweet older couple and wondering what kind of conversation is happening in the next room.
I walk the couple outside and notice it's extremely cloudy. I guess Liam and I won't be taking any walks today.
As I head back inside, Liam is walking out of the office.
"What was that all about?" I ask him, a bit concerned.
He grins. "She just wanted to ask me about my intentions with you."
I cringe. "Oh no. What did you say?"
Liam smiles, putting his arms around my waist. "I assured her my intentions were honorable." He says.
I put my arms around his neck, looking into his gorgeous eyes. "Well I hope that not all your intentions are honorable." I say with a wink.
Liam smirks. Then his mouth is on mine and his hands move from my waist to my back pockets. He bites my bottom lip then pulls back and looks me in the eyes. In a deep husky voice he asks. "Did that feel honorable?"
"Nope." I reply
Liam smirks. "Did you like it?"
"Yep."
He laughs.
Agnes comes out of the office. Liam quickly moves his hands back up to my waist.
"Apparently there's a bad storm coming. If it's alright with you, Lexi, I'm going to head home. Otherwise I may get stuck here." Agnes says.
"Of course, Agnes, go ahead. Be safe." I say.
Agnes adds with a laugh. "Liam, you have Lexi's lipstick on you."
He blushes as I wipe it off for him.
I look up reports about the storm and decide to send all the employees home before it hits.
As I watch them all leave it hits me. Liam and I will be here all alone. I turn to look at him and by the grin on his face, he's realized it as well.
