The next afternoon I'm out on the deck with my coffee, writing. I honestly can't imagine a more perfect place to create.
"I knew I'd find you here, Love." Liam says with a smile.
"I love it here, Liam." I say.
He moves in, giving me a kiss. "Well, I love you." He takes my hand and rubs his thumb slowly across it. "I'm going to take a walk on the beach while you write, Lex."
"I can go with you if you want." I say.
Liam sweetly kisses me on the forehead. "That's ok, Babe, I just need a little time alone to think. You keep working on that book that you won't let me read." He winks.
I watch him as he walks for a bit, before returning to my writing. He's so handsome. His body absolutely perfect in my eyes. Sometimes the love I feel for Liam overwhelms me. I force myself to direct those feelings into my writing.
By the time Liam returns from his walk I've finished a couple more chapters. I'm sitting on the railing of the deck, my legs dangling, watching Liam run towards me. As he reaches me he gives me a big kiss. "Hello there, Beautiful."
I smile and take his hand. "How was your walk?"
He squeezes my hand. "It was good, but I missed you."
I let go of his hands and wrap my arms around his waist, pulling him closer to me. "I missed you too. I have a special evening planned for you." I kiss him. Sweet, light kisses at first, then allowing his urging tongue to meet mine. We get lost in each other for several minutes. Feeling Liam's hand moving up my thigh brings me to my senses. I pull back. "Hey, we can't start this or we'll never get to your special evening."
Liam smirks, moving in to kiss me. "Oh trust me, Babe, it will be very special."
I push him away, laughing. "Stop distracting me! Go take a shower while I get things ready."
Liam comes up behind me and wraps his arms around my waist. Whispering in my ear. "Don't you want to join me in the shower?"
Oh crap! How am I supposed to resist that? I reluctantly pull out of his embrace. "Quit distracting me, Liam. Go!" I point to the bedroom.
Liam pouts and sulks away. After he walks through the bedroom doorway I yell to him. "Don't worry. I'll make it up to you later!"
He pops his head back through the doorway, with the most adorable grin. "Promise, Love?"
I wink. "Promise." I laugh as he slowly moves his head past the doorway until I can't see him anymore. It takes all of my willpower to turn towards the kitchen rather than join Liam in the shower.
I work quickly while he's in there. I change into a lavender summer dress, very feminine. I light some candles, and start dinner.
When I hear that Liam is out of the shower, I head into the bedroom, clutching my writing notebook in my hands. He looks up at me and smiles. "You look beautiful, Lex."
I smile, but I'm shaking. Liam notices and approaches me. "Lexi, Babe, what's wrong?"
"I'm nervous." I stammer.
"Oh, Love, about what?" He asks, concerned.
I look into his perfect, caring eyes. "Will you please read what I've wrote so far and give me your opinion?" I ask.
Liam rubs his hands up and down my arms to calm me. "Are you sure, Love? It's alright if you're not ready."
The supportive, loving look on his face puts me completely at ease. "Yes, I'm sure, Liam. I want, no I need your honest opinion."
"Of course, Lex." He says.
I put my soul, I mean my writing notebook, into his trusted hands. "Take your time. I'll be making dinner." I say. Liam kisses me sweetly on the top of my head before I leave.
I've been anxiously watching the clock. It's been about forty five minutes or so. Dinner is all ready whenever we are. I pour a glass of wine and head out to the deck.
I stand there watching the waves, trying to relax. My writing is so important to me. I want the man I love to be proud of me. What if he doesn't like it though? Maybe I'm not as good as I'd hoped I was?
"Lexi?"
I turn to look at Liam. A look of hope on my face. "Well?" I manage to get out.
He walks toward me. "Lex, you are an amazing writer! I had no idea you were this talented. I love it, Babe."
I sigh and fall into his arms. "Liam, I'm so happy you like it." I pause, looking up into his eyes. "You are being honest with me?"
"Absolutely, Love. Thank you so much for sharing it with me."
I just smile, too emotional to speak. Liam pulls me tightly into his embrace. My head on his chest.
He whispers in my ear. "I'm so proud of you, Lexi."
I can't hold it back. My happy tears land quietly on Liam's shirt.
