Chapter 10

We decide to make it a shorter hike today since we didn't get much sleep last night, stopping for a snack before heading back to the hotel. We sit down on a rock and I take off my denim jacket. Liam looks at me appreciatively. I have to admit that was the look I was hoping for when I chose this tank top this morning. His eyes move up to meet mine, giving me the cutest "I just got caught" grin. Liam takes his flannel shirt off as he says. "It is quite warm out here, isn't it?"

My temperature definitely rises as I see Liam in his grey tank top. I think I genuinely wipe drool from my mouth as I take in every perfect muscle. "Yes, I think it just got hotter." I look up into Liam's eyes, givig him the same "I just got caught" grin.

"Lexi, I just want to tell you that you've made this trip amazing for me. I know we just met, but I feel so comfortable with you. Like I've known you forever." Liam says with a shy smile.

I want to pinch myself. Is this a dream? "I feel the same way, Liam. I'm usually more awkward when I first meet someone. With you though, I feel one hundred percent comfortable." We share a shy smile. "I guess we should head back to the hotel for some lunch." I say.

Liam takes my hand and we head back. I look down at our hands, it surprises me how natural my hand feels in his.

Back at the hotel, Liam heads up to his room to clean up. I check in with Agnes and on my way out of the office I run into the old woman from the restaurant.

"Thank you so much for the tea and pastries, dear. That was so sweet of you and your boyfriend." She says.

I smile. "Oh, those were from Liam."

She looks a bit confused. "Well, he signed both of your names. I'm sure because I remember thinking how cute your names were together, Liam and Lexi."

Hmmmm. "You are very welcome. I hope you enjoyed it." I tell her to end the conversation.

"Oh yes we did, dear. We are heading out to the garden now."

Agnes comes up behind me. "That was interesting."

I turn to face her. "You were listening? Why would he sign it as though we are a couple?"

Agnes grins. "Maybe because he wishes you were?"

I blush. "He's not the only one."
