Chapter 28 (Liam)

Liam is waiting not so patiently at a hotel in the next town over. As Paddy walks in, Liam jumps up. "Is she alright?"

Paddy sits in a chair, Liam sits in the one across from it. "Yes and no, Liam. She's physically alright, but she misses you desperately."

Liam looks down at the ground.

Paddy adds. "I found her in your room. Wearing your hoodie."

Liam runs his hand along Lexi's sweater that's laying in his lap. "Does she understand? Did you assure her that she did nothing wrong?" Liam insists.

"Yes. She understands as well as she can."

Liam gets up, walking to the window. Looking out, deep in thought.

Paddy walks up beside him. "Look Liam, I know today was intense. Take the time you need, but not so much that you lose Alexis. Honestly, she's the best thing that's ever happened to you." He pats Liam on the back.

As Paddy heads out the door, Liam turns to him. "You're right, Paddy. She's everything to me."

"Then what are you doing here?" Paddy asks.
