TAYLOR POV
The whole wedding was basically a blur, with us both repeating the words the minister said and exchanging rings. It wasn't until we were officially declared man and wife that I snapped out of my daze.
"Hello Mrs Wiles!" Adam said, leaning in to kiss me to a chorus of cheers and clapping.
"I like the sound of that, Mr Wiles!" I replied as soon as we pulled away.
We walked back down the aisle to more cheers, with Adam picking up Mia and Lottie taking my hand so we could leave the barn as a family.
The reception was being held outside in a huge marquee, which was decorated with fresh flowers and candles. It was perfect- a cross between simple and elegant.
One of Adam's friends was our photographer for the day, although I knew Adam wasn't going to be able to resist taking photos himself as well. First we had photos with the girls, then with my parents and Amy's parents, then with the bridesmaids and groomsmen, and finally just the two of us.
Lottie and Mia had gone into the marquee already with my parents and we could see Lottie dancing around to the music that was playing. Some of our friends had kids too so soon there was a small gathering of small kids rushing around the dancefloor and the grass outside.
"MOMMY!" Lottie squealed, rushing towards us, her face looking wild and happy.
"Hey bug! What's up?" I asked, bending down slightly.
"When are you coming in? We want to eat!" She told us.
"5 minutes, ok? And then we can eat." I explain, getting a smile in response as she rushed back to her friends.
As we walked into the tent everyone cheered again. We sat down at the top table with our families and soon dinner was being served. We were having caprese salad for starter, fillet of beef with garlic mash and spring greens for main, and wedding cake for dessert with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.
Just before we cut the cake it was time for speeches. First up was Sophia who told a few funny (and not too embarrassing) stories about me and wished us the best, the was Josh who got everyone laughing at the antics he and Adam had gotten up to over the years and by congratulating Adam on winning the jackpot in terms of brides, and last but not least was my dad.
"Hello everyone! My name is Scott, and I have the privilege of being able to talk to you today about my daughter Taylor and her wonderful new husband Adam....and of course my 2 lovely granddaughters Charlotte and Emilia....." He started.
My eyes were full of tears from the get go. Throughout tales of various events from my childhood, stories about high school, and finally getting to me and Adam.
"....when Taylor told us she had met this boy she knew from high school we were sceptical. She had never ever spoken about boys in high school. It took a while for us to finally meet this wonderful man, but let me tell you, the happiness we saw in Taylor's face when she spoke about him and when she introduced us was all we needed to know that this was a serious thing. We also got the privilege of getting to know little Lottie. She reminded both of us of Taylor as a child...bubbly and confident yet caring and serious. A couple of years ago now Andrea and I got a very intriguing visit from Adam. He told us not to tell Taylor he was coming over, and seemed nervous. Immediately we knew what he was coming over to ask. And of course I gave him my blessing, even though it meant letting go of my daughter! Since then we have been able to enjoy holidays with them, have gained another wonderful granddaughter, and been able to see true love at its finest. So, if everyone could please raise their glasses..... Here's to Taylor, Adam, Lottie, and Mia!" he finished.
Immediately I was on my feet, wrapping him in a giant hug. Adam then shook his hand.
"CAKE TIME!" Lottie screamed from next to us, making everyone in the tent laugh.
With Lottie's help we had chosen red velvet cake for the wedding cake, since Lottie didn't like fruit cake and we thought why not something fun and tasty.
ADAM POV
After the cake had been cut and devoured by our guests, the music started back up and dancing started up.
"May I have this dance, Mrs Wiles?" I asked Taylor as they announced our first dance. Taylor had let me choose the song so she didn't know what was coming.
"Why yes, Mr Wiles!" She replied, grinning at me as the opening bars of the song started.
"I've got sunshine on a cloudy day. When it's cold outside I've got the month of May..."
I had chosen 'My Girl' by The Temptations. Taylor leaned into me as we danced slowly around the temporary dance floor.
"I really love you, Adam." Taylor said, smiling up at me as the song changed.
"I know....and I really love you too....and out little girls." I replied, spotting Lottie dancing at the corner with Mia who was being held standing up by Sophia. I pointed over to them.
"Awwww.....can we get them to dance?" Taylor asked me, grinning and pleading with her eyes.
"I thought you'd never ask!" I replied, making he laugh as we headed over to the girls.
"Hi daddy and mommy!!" Lottie said, spotting us when we got closer, "We are dancing like princesses at the ball!"
"Wow! Well, darling how would you like to dance with mommy and daddy and Mia?" I asked her, as Taylor picked up Mia and thanked Sophia for watching them both.
"YES PLEASE!" Lottie replied, holding her hands out for us.
We danced in a funny little circle with Mia laughing from her spot in Taylor's arms and Lottie enjoying twirling around us.
As it got later, Mia fell asleep in her stroller and Lottie was sitting on one of the chairs at the table colouring and yawning every so often.
"Hey Adam? Mom and Dad are going to take the girls back to their room for the night if you want to say goodnight." Taylor said, coming up next to me and running her hand up and down my back.
Taylor's parents had moved into Taylor's room at the 'girls' inn so they could look after the girls, while me and Taylor were staying at the 'boys' inn. It was really our only night alone, since we were going on a family honeymoon to Hawaii for a week from tomorrow.
Soon the party was winding down and Taylor and I decided to head off, both quite eager to spend some alone time, having not had much of it in the last year or so between Lottie, Taylor's pregnancy, and Mia.
"Wait....I have to carry you over the threshold!" I said, as Taylor went up to the door to my suite at the inn.
"Um...ok..." Taylor smirked at me as I lifted her up and carried her into the room, giving her a kiss as I placed her down.
"So, Mrs Wiles, we are alone at last...."I said, making Taylor blush slightly and smile slyly at me.
