"The festival is tonight!" Blaise squeaked, clapping her hands together happily. I sighed, waving my hands slightly in the air.
"Yay." I cheered sarcastically, rolling my eyes.
"Well let's go get ready!" She said grabbing my wrists and pulling me to her room,
"Ready? I'm already ready" I said and I heard her give a little giggle.
"No, we are dressing nice." She told me as she sat me down on the bed.
"I have no dress clothes, I don't dress fancy." I told her.
"Oh I know you don't but I have some clothes that would work! So deal with it!" She snapped before running over to her closet.
"You're always wanting to dress me up. Listen, I'm not like you Otter." I told her, huffing slightly.
"Why thank you! But you are pretty also you brat!" She giggled as she opened her closet. I watched her dig through her clothes as she try to find something
"Ahh, there it is!" She said as she grabbed something out and turned to me.
"This will be perfect!" She said showing me a simple white short dress with fabric overlapping the chest area and lace on the edges and it had a small brown belt running across it. She handed to me and I looked down at it before looking up at her.
"Otter, do I really have too?" I asked, sighing slightly.
"Yes and if you don't, no swimming!" She said, crossing her arms.
"You can't take my swimming away!" I said, laughing.
"I'll tell Makoto that you can't swim and he will enforce it!" She said, glaring at me.
"Oh your boyfriend?" I giggled and she blushed.
"No-no he isn't my boyfriend- he-he is just really- really cute!" She stammered out.
"Yes Captain Otter, I will try on this dress before you take away my swimming privileges." I laughed before heading to the bathroom to try on my dress. Oh god, she really wants me to wear this? I mean it is pretty but I feel ridiculous! I'm not Blaise, I just don't get dressed up.
"Mermaid, come on out!" Blaise yelled, knocking on the door.
"I don't know..." I said as I smoothed out the fabric. I sighed before turned and opening the door. Blaise stood there smiling at me and began jumping up and down in excitement.
"Awe that fits you perfectly! And it makes your hair pop! Oh, I have the perfect shoes to go with it." She smiled before running back to the room. I shook my head before following her. She ran back to her closet and pulled out a small pair of cream colored wedges with white straps. I took them from her and sat down on the bed as she looked for an outfit for herself. I watched her pull longed sleeved dress with a navy blue and white striped top and solid blue bottom that flared out from under the bust. I stood up and picked up Rin's jacket of her bed while she continued getting ready. She turned to me as I walked over, smiling brightly at me.
"Why do you have his jacket with you?" She asked while she pulled on pair of white and navy striped flats.
"What if it gets cold..." I said while looking down at the jacket and smiled slightly. She just giggled and went to her dresser and got out a blue hibiscus flower clip and put it in my hair. I smiled at her before reaching up over and began putting her hair into a messy side braid. Blaise smiled back and gave a small nod before we left, heading for the festival.
As we arrived at the festival, I was mesmerized by everything. I was staring at things as we walked around and while I wasn't paying attention, I ended up running into someone. I stumbled back as the person I ran into apologized.
"I'm sorry!" I heard someone say and I looked up to see Rei. He was looking at me with a shocked look.
"Alex?" He asked, his eyes wide.
"Rei?" I asked back.
"Hey Rei! What are you doing here?" Blaise asked as she skipped over. She seems really happy to be here. I guess if anything, it was worth going to see her this happy. I mean she has always been cheerful but she hasn't been this happy in a long time. The last time I saw her like this was when we were younger and before her parents divorced.
"I'm here with Makoto, Haru, and Nagisa." He said while he smiled at us.
"Oh where are they?" She asked, tilting her head slightly.
"Oh, just follow me." He said while motioning for us to follow. He led us to a table where I could see Makoto sitting there. He smiled when he saw us before he started blushing noticing Blaise. I smiled because I could see why he would be staring. She looked breath taking in her dress, her hair hanging down her side and her amber eyes sparkling in the light.
"Bl-blaise?" He asked as we walked up and she tilted her head slightly, smiling brightly at him.
"You look really nice!" He said smiling and she blushed. Nagisa ran over towards us.
"You look nice too, Mermaid!" He said while smiling at me.
"Oh thank you, Nagisa" I smiled back, blushing slightly at the attention. God, I'm not used to dressing up like this!
"So, what are we going to do?" Rei asked us.
"Well we can show Alex around. This is her first time in japan and this festival is huge. So far she likes it!" Blaise said, still smiling brightly and bouncing happily. Oh dear lord, she is really happy. I'm glad to see her like this though.
"Okay." They said and we began walking around. We stopped after a bit to get some food, all of us feeling hungry.
"What do you want Alex?" Blaise asked me.
"Takoyaki." I said, smiling at her.
"One takoyaki please." She told the vender. She then handed me the paper plate and I picked one up and ate it, smiling happily.
"You know, I have lived here and I haven't had that." She said to me. I turned to look at her, offer her the plate.
"Want to try one?" I asked her and she thought for a moment before nodding. She picked one up before plopping into her mouth. She chewed it slowly, making a disgusted face.
"Ew, nope!" She said as we walked along the boardwalk. I stopped to lean against the stone ledge and put another ball of takoyaki in my mouth. I was looking out at the ocean when Blaise put a hand on my shoulder.
"Come on Alex!" Blaise said, shaking me and drawing my attention away from the shore line. We began walking back to find the boys but we accidently ran into a smaller grey haired boy. He began blushing as he stumbled back.
"Oh, I'm sorry!" The boy said, apologizing. I was about to tell him it was fine but I was cut off by someone yelling.
"Ai, there you are!" Rin said as he walked up. He spotted us and looked at us with surprise.
"Blaise? Mermaid?" He said as he stared at us.
