I looked up from my sketch pad to see Rin and Alex splashing each other while the others began joining in.
"I might as well join them." I said putting before my things down and running out to the ocean. I dove under and swam towards them, jumping up to land on Alex.
"I got you, you mermaid!" I giggled.
"I'm not a mermaid but nice of you to join us." Someone said and I looked up, realizing I had latched onto Makoto, not Alex. I blushed and went to slide off but he turned and pulled me up, setting me on his shoulders. I blushed harder as I looked around, spotting Rin staring at me. His eyes darted from me to Alex before turning back to me with a smirk. I nodded and I could see him chuckle before he lifted Alex out of the water and set her on his shoulders.
"Rin what are you— oh I see." She giggled as she spotted Makoto and me.
"Chicken fight!" Rin yelled before wading over to us. I grabbed Alex's hands and tried to push her off Rin's back, giggling hysterically. These last couple days have been awesome, having fun with Alex! I haven't been this happy in a long time, probably not since my parents split and I was left with my horrible mother!
"You're going down Mermaid!" I said, growling lightly at her.
"Think again, Otter!" She growled back at me, pushing me back. I pushed her harder and succeed in knocking her off Rin's shoulders.
"WOOHOO!" I yelled, throwing my hands in the air as Rin and Makoto laughed.
"Damn it!" she snapped as she hit the water with a splash.
"Now how does it feel to lose?" I asked her as she looked at me. Shit, she's going to knock me off Makoto!
"Don't you dare do it Alexandria moon!" I screamed at her as she smirked, wading over to us.
"I'm sorry, Makoto." Alex said as she got closer.
"It's alright?" He said, sounding unsure of what was going on. She suddenly tackled Makoto, making him fall to the water as I fell off his shoulders. She swam over to me and I looked up at her.
"Now I know how you feel." I giggled, not caring that I got knocked into the water.
"Otter, you little shit." She giggled as she latched onto my shoulders.
"You are the little one here." I told her with a giggle and I heard her stomach growl.
"I'm hungry." She whined as she sat her head on top of mine.
"Thinking about it, so am I!" I said, grabbing my stomach as it growled loudly.
"I can make dinner, come on let's go home to eat then we can head back." Alex said and I nodded.
"You cook?" Makoto asked Alex.
"Yea and she is good at baking!" Alex told me as she looked at me.
"Come on and gather everyone while I go get ready" She said before wading up to the beach and running home. I looked over and saw Rin watching her leave.
"What are you staring at, shark boy?" I asked him, giggling slightly.
"She never wore bikinis before" He said then looking at me "Neither have you."
"She didn't because I didn't and she didn't want me to feel left out. And you know why I never wore bikinis!" I snapped slightly and Rin frowned slightly before I turned and swam to shore.
"Hey you guy, Mermaid is cooking us some food. Let's go dry off and eat!" I called out as I reached the beach we all got out on to the beach, I was on my towel when Rin and Makoto sat on either side of me. I began shivering a bit and Makoto put his arm around me and pulled me closer while Rin glared at him slightly. What is his issue? Makoto is only keeping me warm, it was nothing more than that! I may think he was cute but I highly doubt Makoto thought of me more than a friend. Haru walked up to us and looked down at me.
