i was trying to focus on the ceiling through my misty vision when phil called.
"hello?" i whisper through sobs.
"hey." a warm voice leaks through my phone's speakers.
"phil." i choke, shocked that he actually bothered to console me at three am.
"what's wrong?" phil asks, his smooth voice made me shiver.
"i'm so sorry." i say, wiping at my eyes. i avoid his question since it had many different and complicated answers.
"for what?" phil replies.
"being such a burden." i whisper.
"no, angel, you could never be a burden. i want to help you, please let me." phil says through the phone.
"okay." i croak.
phil calms me until the sun rises, and manages to make me smile with one of his stupid jokes.
i think i love him a little too much.
