phil's pov
nobody told me he'd be by the school gates wearing a red gap hoodie.

he wasn't going to wear it in school, so i wouldn't be able to spot him in the crowds.

my last lesson of the day was maths, and that dragged usually. but today it was worse, because i couldn't focus on any of the fractions or equations.

when the bell went, i was already rushing out the door, before people had even thought to cap their pens.

i walked down the stairs, halfway down the corridor, turned to walk out the door, and across the courtyard to the school gates.

there he was.

sat with his back to me on a bench, one leg pulled up, the other flat across the rest of the bench. pale fingers were slightly exposed out of his red sweater paws, and were anxiously tapping his raised knee. my heart beat rapidly sped up.

what do i do? do i just walk up to him? i don't really have another choice. fuck it, just go up to him. i took a deep breath and forced my wobbly legs to walk over.

"um, hey." i say, nervousness clear in my voice. nobody's head turns, and i was suddenly looking at the most captivating human being i have ever seen.

with soft brown hair, slightly curly in the fog. his eyes were a sweet chocolate brown, warm and welcoming but with a beautiful dark edge. his lips were a pretty baby pink and cracking slightly in the cold. the rest of his face was evenly proportioned, all soft curves.

he was absolutely beautiful.

"wow." i whisper, accidentally saying my thoughts out loud. nobody furrows his eyebrows, turning away.

"what?" he mutters, a hint of annoyance in his voice.

"you- i don't- you're just absolutely gorgeous." i say, and we both blush red. he pulls himself up onto his feet. he was really tall, at least 6 ft.

"let's go to my house, nobody else is home." he mutters, taking my hand and dragging me there in silence.

we were now in his bedroom, the door safely closed behind us. i awkwardly sit on the edge of his bed.

"can we start again? i'm sorry i was quiet, i-i didn't really know what to say." he asks, leaning his back against his door.

"sure." i say, smiling softly.

nobody looks up at me, a smirk lighting up his gorgeous face.

he kneels down on the floor in front of me, so his hips were against my knees. i lean my forehead against his.

"hello, my name is daniel james howell and i am in love with you." dan says, the same smirk on his face. his name repeats in my head.

it was a pretty name. i loved it.

"i love you too." i say, smiling as i take his face into my hands.

dan's eyes reflect shock and he blinks.

"y-you do?" he asks.

"why wouldn't i?" i reply, still smiling.

"you know why." he whispers sadly, looking down.

i smile softly at his shyness, and rub my thumbs over the exposed area of his cheek.

"you know something?" i ask, and dan shakes his head.

"i was right when i said you're the most beautiful thing on this earth." i say, lifting his chin.

dan's sad expression was gone, a gorgeous smile upon his lips.

"please prove to me that i'm not dreaming." dan's warm grin changes to a cheeky smirk, and i accept the challenge.

and in that moment, there was only one option.

i press our lips together for the most electric and addictive kiss i have ever experienced.

i pull away slightly in shock. kissing had never felt like this before.

dan goes to say something, but i silence him with another kiss, the electric feeling still as strong.

i kiss his lips again, until he starts giggling and i then kiss all over his face.

"oh my god." dan whispers when i finally pull away, both smiling.

"what?" i whisper back, staring into his warm eyes.

"i've just wanted to do that for so long, phil." dan says, sighing softly.

i press another kiss to his lips. i feel his soft smile against my mouth.

"you never have to wait again." i whisper.
