Chapter 34

"Marcus? What are you doing here?"

Marcus smiles sickly at me then paces back and forth.

"I heard you moved here for school and had to stop by and say hi."

"How are you h-here?" I mentally curse at myself for letting my voice stutter.

"I obviously flew here."

"No. How did you get out is what I'm asking."

Marcus smiles, "I have my ways."

"Marcus, what do you want from me?"

"You see, you're the most important thing to my son, Tobias. And he won't talk to me. So I figured, if something happened to you, he would have no choice but to come to me."

"You're sick, what makes you even think I'll be willing to come with you?" I back up until my back connects with a wall.

He laughs bitterly, "You underestimate me, Beatrice."

Suddenly, three men dressed in dark clothing appears from around the corner.
"Now, you have two options. You can either come with me voulentairlily, or not."

My heartbeat starts to match my breathing as the men stand next to Marcus.

"You sick man."

"I could go without the comments, Sweetheart. Now hurry up."

I contemplate what to do as the men come closer. I had no choice.

"Please. Just let me go, I'll talk to Tobias."

"He won't change his mind."

"Then what's the point of taking me?"

He shrugs, a smile forming, "I can't lie, pure fun."

I shudder at his words. Why couldn't I have waited for my friends?

"Your time is running out. Come on, grab her and let's go." Marcus turns and turns the corner as the men approach me.

"No, please. Stop!"

One man grabs my arms while another covers my mouth with a gloved hand. The last holds me still as they haul me to a white van.

I scream but it's muffled by the hand. Marcus slides open the door and one grabs duck tape.

They cover my mouth, tie my hands and shove me inside. The van starts speeding down the street and I'm smashing into the back. Pain runs through my spine as I land onto a shovel.

I instantly loose it, if I hadn't already. They were going to bury me?! I push myself into a corner and try to calm down.

The van takes a sharp turn, and I go with it. I slam into a pile of tools and feel a sting in my arm. Great, I got cut by a hand saw!

Shortly, the van halts abruptly. The door opens and the men hop in to grab me.

"Cover her eyes, she can't know where we are."
