Hey guys. Sorry I haven't updated. I've been sick.

If you didn't already know, I write these stories on my IPad so I never got the feature to add media to my works. I'll start doing that now though.

So, here's the chapter! I hope you enjoy!

P.S. The picture is Tris at the funeral. Just ignore her hair.

Chapter 21

Tris's POV

Today was Sunday, the day of Marlene's parents funeral. I was dressed in a black right dress, black flats, black cardigan and my hair was curled. Tobias took us to the funeral, and it was such a great ceremony.

Marlene talked,

"My parents taught me to strive for success, I can say that every day we succeed in something. Whether or not we notice it, but it's there. My parents lived an amazing life, that's how I hope to remember them. I remember a couple days before the car crash, I was cooking with my mom when she told me "Be the change you wish to see in the world." I know it sounds cliché, but in that moment I knew something might happen."

Uriah talked,

"Daniel and Ellie were amazing people I will always remember. They always knew how to crack a joke, sometimes I would worry that they might beat me at the jokes! They were always positive people and never looked down on people because they're different, and I'm totally grateful for that or else I wouldn't have been with Marlene. I can't feel even close to what Marlene is going through, but know I'll always be by your side."

And we each got to say something about how they will be missed

Tobias- "Marlene was raised by amazing people. They will be greatly missed. I'm here for you Mar."

Zeke- "I can't wrap my head around the fact that I will never be able to spend another minute with them, they were truly great people."

Lynn- "We're like sisters, they were like parents, and still to this day are. I will always be thinking about them."

Shauna- "I haven't met your parents many times, but I could tell from the beginning they were special people."

Will- "I thought this type of thing only happened in books, but sadly I was wrong. Your parents were wonderful people."

Christina- "We've known each other forever, been through thick and thin together. So know I'll stand with you through this. Love you like a sister."

Tris- "I wish I had the right words, but know I care. I can't understand how you feel, but know I'm here in every which way possible."

Marlene cried a lot, as expected. I held her through it and said nothing. Because nothing I said could take away her pain.

It was a very sad day.

After the funeral, we thought we should let Marlene have some time to herself, we didn't want to bombard her with people and even more sad people. Tobias and I went to my house -were I've been letting him stay while he got things sorted out at his place- and worked on some music.

Tobias told me what was happening with his father: Marcus was going to prison for about two years to start with. He got charged for extreme assault and harassment. Tobias, Grey and Joel were trying to talk to the police about how Marcus also beat Evelyn, but were having difficulties doing so because they're wasn't much evidence since it was so long ago.

Alex is still in the hospital in bad conditions. Joel was telling Tobias that she is going to be charging/ suing him for 74.000$. It's not like he can't afford it, they're rich. Not that that's the point but still, they don't have to worry about loosing money.
