Hey. I had my last horse show of the year on the 28th, well it was a gymkhana but whatever. I placed second in barrel racing, and got fourth our of 11 people in dash for cash, I got timed 11.3 seconds. I also got two trophies, one for best competitor rider and one for messing up my patterns 😂. But hey, it's better than nothing!

Anyways, on to the chapter.

THIS CHAPTER HAS HITTING IN IT. If you can't read that I totally understand.

P.s this is the 20th chapter! Yay!

Enjoy

Tris's POV

HOURS LATER...

I lay in bed, crying. I ruined everything, of course I did. Of course.

I let him go, well, forcefully let him go. He didn't want to but now, he's gone. It wasn't even his fault.

I rub my eyes, crying into my pillow, burring my head. I needed to calm down. 'Get a grip!' I yell at myself.

I should've listened to him, damn it I shouldn't have went there last night.

HOURS BEFORE.....

Tris's POV.

Oh god, by the look of this, it isn't going to end well.

Marcus stands up and walks fast over to Alexandra. He's going to hit her, shit no.

"Dad, no. Stop." Joel beams, he stands up and walks to go stand between them.

"Get the f**k out of my way." Marcus spits and pushes him away.

"Dad! Stop it!" Grey says, his voice is wavy, like he's choking back tears.

Marcus slaps Alex in the face twice before Joel grabs him by his arm and yanks him back.

"Stop it! You're bring back memories from mom! This is enough!" He shrieks.

I glance at Tobias, he is panting, as if trying to forget bad memories.

Tobias POV.

I remember it like it was yesterday, but to see it replay in my eyes is too much.

Flashback

"I said! Stay in your room!" Marcus booms, Joel had walked down stairs to try to help, being 8 he thought he could fix it.

I cower in my room, only 6 at the time, I can still hear him clear as day. His voice is so loud, I'm sure four doors down can just as well as I can.

"This needs to stop Marcus! I can't deal with it." Evelyn says and I can tell she is sobbing. "The kids are always scared, never come downstairs. They deserve better than this." She is breathing unevenly.

I hear a sharp slap, it makes me wince. My mom is getting hurt, again. This happens a lot, now almost everyday. He hits us too, for no reason but to feel better himself I guess.

He continues to slap her until I hear no more, no more crying, no more yelling to stop. It's the most quiet it has been in years.

"Mom?" I hear Joel whimper. "Mommy wake up! Mom!"

Grey runs out of my room down the stairs, I follow quickly behind him.

When I stand on the last step, everything stops. My mom, is laying on her back in the middle of the living room, bruises all over her, cuts everywhere.
