Adam walked by my side as he lead me to the room my aunt occupied. I was excited to be seeing her after such a long time. I was also worried; I didn't know what they had done to her; she could be hanging onto her life and I wouldn't know.
We stopped at a two large wooden doors, Adam stepped forward and effortlessly opened it. His hand motioned me to go first, but I didn't know what was in there. "You first" I said.
He smiled and chuckled deeply. I stayed close behind him as we walked through the darkness. I couldn't see anything at all. I eventually lost the touch of Adam and was feeling through the darkness for him.
"Adam" I called. "I'm right here love" he said lifting me in his arms. His lips brushed against my temple making my heart thump faster. He chuckled again.
After what seemed like forever in the darkness, we finally reached a lit room similar to the one I woke up in. Adam set me down on my bare feet, and let me walk into the room.
There in the room facing a mirror was a woman with long black hair like mine. She was humming while brushing her hair. I looked back at Adam unsure. He nooded and took my hand; leading me to the woman.
The woman suddenly turned around to reveal bright red eyes. "Bella! " she exclaimed, I gasped and hid behind Adam. This woman was not my aunt. My aunt was not a monster, she couldn't be.
"Sweetheart its me, aunt Rozalina" the woman said sadly. Tears escaped my eyes. How could she be so calm? She would be forced to kill people now.
"Bella it's not as bad as we thought, its much better this way believe me." She says.
"I would suggest you give her some time to process, too many things on her shoulders is not healthy. " Adam says grabbing my hand and gently pulling me out of the room.
"She is one of you? " I ask even though I know the answer. But I just can't fathom it. He nods and lifts me. I lay my head on his shoulder and more tears pore out of my eyes.
"Shhhh love" Adam says kissing my forehead. I breathe in his smell that instantly relaxes me. He holds me tighter and lays his head on mine.
"Does anyone tell you how tiny you are?" Adam questions. I smile. "Well its not really fair," he looks at me, "your a giant" he grins and sets me on a counter.
"Your hungry" he says for me. I raise an eyebrow. "I guess".
The rest of the day was spent talking to each other. I tried my best not to think of my aunt and her sudden transformation. It was still shocking to me. The woman I knew a few weeks ago would rather die than become a vampire..now she's embracing it.
I was angry and heartbroken. I had no one now. I still wasn't sure I was able to trust Adam, I was still thinking it was dream; a dream that I never wanted to awake from.
"I have to go" Adam said. I look out the window to see dark has fallen over the trees. My eyes widened slightly; it was his hunting time.
His fingers grip my chin and he presses a kiss to my forehead. "I'll be back in the morning when you wake" Adam says before his figure is walking out the door.
I watch out the window to see Adam and four other men walking into the woods. I blink once and they are no longer there.
I lay on the red silk sheets and close my eyes. I think of my life two weeks before all this happened. My aunt and I would go into our basement where we lived and paint. That was the only thing we could do. We couldn't make any noise though, we could never be too sure someone was listening.
I was interupted from my thoughts as I heard faint sounds of screaming. I heard this every night. It let humans know that the cold ones were out and hunting. I covered my ears.
The sound was awful. No matter how many times I've heard the screams, it still put fear into my heart.
I didn't fall asleep that night. The screams were too much. If one scream stoped another took it's place. The most heart wrenching sound was of children. I felt like a failure knowing I couldn't save those kids. They didn't deserve that pain; no one did.
My eyes stayed open until the sun rose. The screaming was all I could hear. The sounds of pain and death made me feel ill.
Adam soon came and held me tightly. My head laid on his rock hard chest. "I know you didn't sleep" Adam said playing with a strand of my black locks, "now you will."
My eyes dropped and I was pulled into a world of flames and torture. Fire danced around me like wind. I looked up and saw Earth's worst nightmare. A river of fire with all creatures burning. My mouth opened and out came a blood curdling scream.
