The bar was full of attractive drunk people, the couch full of more attractive people making out, and more drunks going in and out the bathroom. I found an empty bar stool and slid onto it, resting my elbows on the counter. I pulled my phone out and looked at the time.
"Eight o'clock?" I didn't even realize I had danced with those people for two hours already. The bartender, who really looked like someone from the competition, came up in front of me tapped my shoulder. I looked up from my phone and smiled at him.
"Can I get you something?" he asked me.
"No thanks," I shook my head and looked back down at my phone.
"C'mon Lexi, get that stick out of your ass. Two of your finest beers my good sir," Landon's loud voice sat next to me and he threw two dollars down on the counter.
"Two dollars? Really?" I rolled my eyes at him.
"Yes really, this booze is free, I don't have to pay him anything. I'm being a good boy. Girls like that," He winked again.
"Girls like bad boys actually." Not that I would really know, I've just heard it in movies.
"Well those are the sluts, I don't want a slut," He shrugged.
I rolled my eyes at him and glanced down at the red solo cups that had been placed in front of us. I watched as Landon grabbed his cup and took a drink.
"Ew," I cringed.
He rolled his eyes then grabbed my cup and shoved it in my hands. I stared down at the golden liquid, trying not to throw up from the smell.
"This is poison ya know?" I remarked.
"So is diet soda, now drink," he pushed the cup up to my mouth.
I sighed and placed the cups on my lips. The beer burned as it swam down my throat. I abrubtly stopped drinking and dropped the cup to the groud, grabbing my throat as I coughed violently. I smacked my hand down on Landon's leg and leaned forward, still unable to catch my breath.
"Lexi?" Landon grabbed my wrist and stood up off his stool.
"Shit, I shouldn't have done that," he looked frantic.
Then throwing me completely off guard, he picked me up bridal style and started pushing his way to the bathroom. I screamed and gripped on to him tightly before my laughter could no longer contain itself. He slowed his walking until we were standing still and he looked down at me.
"I'm sorry, I didn't think you'd believe me," I laughed.
He set me down and continued to glare at me.
"You're such a bitch, Alexis Jane," he growled.
I reached up and poked his nose.
"I know," I smiled.
He swatted my hand away and crossed his arms.
"And just for that I think Hanna, Justice, and I are gonna have to kick your ass. Not like we weren't going to anyway."
"Well be careful Landy, that stick might impale your foot," I winked.
He rolled his eyes again, turned around, and started to walk away while I laughed.
"Do you wanna dance?" I called.
He turned around, that same stupid, sexy grin sitting on his face.
"I thought you'd never ask, Alexis Jane," He grabbed my hand and pulled me into the middle of the crowd.
"So how do you wanna do this?" He asked.
"What do you mean?" I looked up at him.
People around us were bumping into me, somehow pushing me closer to him.
"Do you want some leaps and turns or what?" he opened his arms like he was waiting for me to step in and start ballroom dancing.
"No, we just dance," I shrugged.
He nodded for a second and bit his bottom lip. His hand found its way into mine again and then he twirled me around so my back was to him.
"I'll see what I can do," he whispered.
I felt his knuckles dig into my sides again and I screamed, squirming around in his arms.
"Cut it out! Landon stop- Shit!" I was laughing so hard I could feel tears forming in my eyes.
Before they could fall he stopped tickling me, I let out a sigh of relief in my head. Instead, he placed his hands on my hips and completely enclosed the space between us. I felt his chest press against my back and he let out a deep breath that I could feel on my neck. I softly placed my hands over his and held on. The music seemed to get louder and louder with every song making my head pound, but I was loving every second of it.
I swayed my hips against his and completely let myself go. I forced myself for just a short amount of time to forget about everyone in the world. Landon and I danced, and at a certain point, he rested his chin on my shoulder. Suddenly everything came flooding back and I squirmed a bit. Okay, time to go. I grabbed his hands and stepped away from him.
"I think I should get back now. We have to wake up early and I'm definitely not a morning person," I yelled over the music.
"Oh c'mon! We were just getting started!" He exclaimed.
I really didn't know how long we had been dancing but I knew it was probably longer than it should have been.
"No, I really need to go. I'm exhausted anyway," I let go of his hands and wiped away the sweat.
"Well, I'm gonna walk you home then."
