“Lexi?” Liz called coming down stairs.

“Yeah?” I called back.

“What happened to you?” She asked coming up in front of me.

“I think broke my ankle. But I’m fine.” I said.

“Well that’s good.” Liz said.

That was the thing about my friends, they really knew me, and I really knew them. They know how I would react to something and they treat me the same way.

“So I saw you and Jacob. What happened?” Liz asked sitting next to me.

“He got jealous and mad at me for no reason. I was training with Ethan and he helped me with my ankle. My dad and brother were still training so he took me back to his place. I told Jacob to come get me and he did. Now he’s all mad because I was at his house and I didn’t go to the hospital.” I said.

Liz looked at me.

“You know, I never liked him.” She said.

I smiled and rested my head on her shoulder.

“I know. Are Bailey and Tess upstairs?"

“Yeah. So did you break up with him? I heard a little of the conversation.” Liz said.

“No.” I sighed, “I didn’t think I needed to. I just had to tell him how it was gonna be.”

Someone knocked on the door and Liz stood up.

“I’ll get it.” She told me.

As she went to answer the door, I stood up and went to the fridge. I got a Gatorade and sat down at the island. I took a long drink and then set the bottle down.

I put my hands over my eyes and sighed. It just wasn’t right now. I had just been accepted to one of the best performing arts competitions, and got to go with my best friends. Then I had my crazy step dad go ruin my night, I broke my ankle which will make it really hard to dance in only one week. Then my boyfriend gets mad at me for no reason right after we had our first kiss. My life was nothing but crap right now.

“What do you want?” Liz snarled.

“Can I come in?” I heard Jacob ask.

Now he was here to try to make it all better and act like nothing ever happened.

“Why should I let you come in?” Liz's voice was dripping in pure annoyance.

I couldn’t see it, but I knew she had crossed her arms.

“‘Cause I’m her boyfriend.” Jacob replied.

“Yeah, we’ll just see how long that lasts. The only reason you’re trying to get in is so you make it all better right? You just want to get her forgiveness and pretend like nothing ever happened. Lexi isn’t stupid Jacob. Apparently you’re stupid enough to not realize that. She isn’t gonna take all your crap anymore. So I suggest you go home now, think about all the stuff you did, and plan what you’re gonna say to her. ‘Cause if you screw up one more time, I’ll be the one planning things to say. At your funeral.” Then I heard the door shut quickly.

Liz knew everything about me. She knew how I was feeling, what I needed, she was my sister. She came back into the kitchen and sat across from me.

“Too harsh?” Liz asked.

“Just perfect.” I smiled.

Liz closed her eyes and whispered yes with excitement.

“So you stayin over tonight?” I asked her.
