"Oh my god!" I jumped, dropping the key out of my hand, gripping my chest like I had just had a heart attack.
"Shit, sorry!" Justice ran over to me and picked up my room key.
"Why are you still awake?" I questioned taking my key back.
"Hanna and I were waiting for Landon. I don't know why though, it's not like him coming back at late hours is out of the norm," she said.
I nodded and took a few more deep breaths.
"So did you have fun at the party?" Her smile was bright like the sun and it was too late at night to be anywhere where the sun was shining.
"Uh yeah, I'm glad I went. I think I needed that," I forced a smile at her.
I shouldn't have gone to that party. I should have come back to my room and pestered my brother about Stella and watched cartoons with a plate of expensive brownies from room service.
"Are you coming in or not?" Tessa's head popped out of the door and I jumped again.
"Dammit Tessa," I recomposed myself.
"Oh, sorry. I didn't hear you, Justice. It sounded like you were talking to yourself," she smiled nervously.
"No problem. So did you see Landon?" Justice asked me.
I opened my mouth to answer but Tessa beat me.
"You were with Landon the whole time? No wonder none of us could find you," she blurted.
"I never said I was. But anyway, yeah he um... walked me home. He should be up here in a few minutes," I said.
Tessa threw a hard stare at me but I ignored it.
"And by a few minutes she means an hour," Hanna was leaning on the doorframe of her room with her arms crossed.
Her hair was in a sloppy ponytail and she had on a big t-shirt and sweatpants. Why the hell did she still look so perfect?
"Does he do that a lot?" Dammit, I shouldn't have asked that question. Now I sounded concerned with his late night activities.
"Every Friday night," Hanna yawned.
"Well, I'm sure he'll be back soon," I muttered.
"C'mon Lexi, we need sleep. G'night," she grabbed my arm and pulled me into the room, waving to Hanna and Justice.
I stumbled in, pulling my bandana off my head and throwing it on the bed. I sat down and wiped my face. I've never been so tired.
"Where the hell have you been?!" Bailey exclaimed running out of the bathroom.
"More importantly, who were you with?" Liz added staring down at her phone on the bed next to mine.
"Landon walked her home," Tessa answered for me.
Bailey opened her mouth to speak then stopped herself. Her and Liz exchanged a glance and then Tessa looked at them.
"This little eye communication isn't so secretive anymore, I hope you know that. You three do that whenever I do something you disapprove of and you've been doing it for years," I sighed.
"Why did he walk you home? You could've just come back with us," Bailey said.
"Well I never saw you," I shrugged, pulling my shoes off.
"You could've called," Liz added on to Bailey's point.
"No way we would've been able to hear each other. You guys can't even blame me. You purposely left me with him on the way there so you can't bitch about me coming back with him," I said.
The three of them looked at each other again then kept moving along with whatever they were doing.
"What?!" I exclaimed.
"What about Jacob?" Bailey muttered.
"What about him? If you're suggesting that I forgot about him and I'm trying to have a little out of town, on the side romance or some shit like that, you can all go kiss my ass," I mumbled.
It was impossible to even keep my eyes open.
"Lexi, you're being hostile because you're hiding something," Tessa said.
I rolled my eyes and pulled my shirt off.
"You really should've come home sooner, we thought you got snatched or something," Liz said.
I got up and headed towards the bathroom.
"I hate you all," I called shutting the door behind me.
