Hey,
Thanks for reading. There aren't many more chapters to go- five or six- so I'm trying very hard not to drag it out.
Also, thank you for everyone that finished "Pan's Tiger" and read this sequel, it means a lot and I know have 12k reads on "Pan's Tiger"!
Please vote and comment.
Enjoy,

Suddenly, a hand which had crept up behind me clasped over my mouth. I tried to scream, but no sound came out. His second hand looped around my waist, holding my back tightly against his torso. I was frozen to the spot, unable to move.

I was unable to breathe.

But I had to act fast.

In complete fear, I bit down on my invader's hand sharp and powerfully, pulling back as I tasted the revolting blend of another person's blood.

'Ouch.' He screeched, dropping his hands quickly to the ground, 'Dammit, Tiger, I wasn't going to hurt you. All I was gonna do was say "guess who?"!'

'Pan!' I growled angrily as I spun around hastily, frustrated with my former husband/boyfriend/whatever. I had instantly recognised his voice and wasn't sure whether I was delighted or relived or simply furious with his little stunt. He wasn't supposed to play pranks like that on me unless he wanted me to defend myself.

'Hey, Tiger Lily.' He winked.

I rolled my eyes and shrugged off his comment, letting my shoulders relax so I didn't appear tense or uncomfortable. He walked towards me slowly and confidently, like an animal stalking its prey, making me shiver.

'Don't call me that,' I grunted, badly attempting to hide my discontent.

'What? Tiger or Lily?' Pan smirked, as his body became so close I could feel his breath on the top of my forehead, where my forehead met his mouth.

'Tiger.' I clarified.

Having given no more information than necessary, Pan dipped his head slightly to look me in the eyes more comfortably and demanded harshly, 'Why not?'

I took my eyes off the floor to my right, travelling up slowly and cautiously. Eventually, I said between sniffles and tears edging their way down my cheek, 'Because it reminds me of what I no longer have, of what I gave up.'

His lips slowly edged down my cheek, making their way right next to my ear in a position where our cheeks were touching. I'm quite disappointed in myself to say that I like him being this close. In reality, our proximity gave me the shivers. He didn't want to comfort me, he wanted to dominate me. He had forgotten what it was like to be a husband, to be the provider for me and for my son, to be someone comforting and reassuring.

His soft lips brushed my ear as he spoke, 'You see, I own this whole island, Sweetheart. And I have a lot of power here. And if I want to call you Tiger, there's nothing you can do to stop me...Tiger.' Peter finished.

He leaned back with his face a mask of pride and satisfaction. Angrily, I bit back, 'You may fancy yourself as the King over the land, but that is all it is. You can own the land and still all you'll own is land because I will never, EVER, see you as a King over me. You don't rule over me. You don't control me.'

'You're mine,' Pan growled, cutting off my rant.

'Not any more,' I snapped back harshly, 'I believe you are my former husband... I don't think I could ever be yours after what you did to my son and family.'
