Michaels outfit:))))
I walk out last period, my head down and anxious thoughts filling my brain when someone catches my arm.
I look up alarmed, but only find Luke, Ashton and Calum.
They all smile at me, though they seem uncertain after my moment of panic.
"Hey," Luke says softly. "They're getting pizza and I they said we can come, want to?" His voice is hopeful and as the two other boys look at us, I feel my cheeks warming.
"O-Okay, i h-have to p-pop h-home quick, you c-can c-come," I stutter out, styling my hair out of nervous habit.
The boys all share a glance before shrugging.
"Alright," Ashton says, heading towards my locker as we all begin to walk. "You're dads not like against... Punk, is he?" He asks cautiously.
"Ashton!" Luke hisses, sending him a glare.
"I-It's fine, and n-no," I stop, and take a breath. "I-I'm g-gay, h-he doesn't hate m-me," I say as I struggle to open my locker. I try to tug but my weak arms can't do shit.
Luke pushes me aside gently, and he gives it an effortless yank and it opens. I blush at my weakness and mumble a quiet Thankyou before entering it.
"So he won't hate us?" Calum asks. I shake my head, shoving my books in for the day, before something falls out and onto my shoe. I bend over and pick it up, curiosity and dread bubbling in my chest as I unfold it.
'Fag go kill urself' I read the words and feel the familiar sense of sadness pull at my stomach. From behind me, the three boys read over my shoulders.
Tears begin to prick my eyes when Luke rips it out of my hand suddenly; making me jump.
"Fucking assholes. I'll find them I swear, you don't deserve this, ignore it," Luke screws the ball up so hard in his hand I think it's going to cut him.
"I-I'm okay, d-don't worry about i-it Luke," i say, closing the door of my locker and blinking back the water in my eyes.
Luke just shakes his head looking at the floor and we walk out the school in silence, until Ashton breaks it.
"Do you get that a lot?" His voice is sad and quiet and I'd almost say guilty. Why would he be guilty? He's been nothing but nice to me.
"Yeah, b-but I-I'm u-used to it, m-my last s-school was j-just as b-bad, t-that's why I m-moved," I explain, fiddling with the purple flowery bracelet around my wrist.
"I didn't know that's why you moved," Luke says. I just nod. I don't want to talk about it; not yet- we've been friends for merely four days, and I find myself giving a big part of myself to him.
Most people would say I'm trusting to fast and giving myself to quickly, and I am.
And that's weird; I don't do that, I don't trust and I don't have fun and breathe and chill around most people- though some how this tattooed dork is bringing out the best in me and I don't know why or how.
The rest of the walk to my house takes about seven minutes and we all stay quiet, only the sound of cars rushing and teenagers shouting in close parks.
When we finally arrive it my house, Ashton almost keeps waking.
"A-Ashton, my h-house is here," I say, speaking as loudly as I can.
He turns his head and looks to me weirdly.
"Wait seriously?" He says, I pause a moment and just nod.
Then he runs towards me and hugs me, for a moment I'm stiff and awkward, but I force myself to relax.
"Hey Neighbour!" He squeals in my ear and I flinch.
He pulls away. "Sorry," he laughs but I just remain staring at him in disbelief. He's lived next to me this whole time and I had no idea. Weird.
"I forgot! I should've mentioned that, aha," Luke laughs and we both send him a glare.
"Why do you even know he lives here?" He asks in a weird tone.
"Just stuff," he mumbles, and I nod before looking away and walking up the drive. They all follow behind me and I push open the unlocked door. My dad is in the kitchen when the four of us walk in and he turns, surprised to see so many people.
"Hello! Sorry, I was ironing," he laughs and gestures for for the boys to sit down.
Just for caution, before I disappear to get changed, I sit with them and make sure dad doesn't embarrass me.
We all sit down around the dining table in the crappy wooden chairs.
"So... Who's this Michael?" Dad asks and I struggle to find words for a moment; Luke fills in for me.
"I'm Luke," Luke says, and dad nods.
"How could I forget you," my dad smiles wide at Luke and Luke smiles back.
"I'm calum," Calum says, smiling a toothy smile. Dad greets him, smiling back.
"I'm Ashton," Ashton says, smiling wide, revealing dimples.
"Why do i recognise you?" Dad asks and Ashton grins.
"I live next door," he explains.
They talk a bit more and dad suggests I go get ready when Luke says we are doing out for pizza. I nod and disappear into my room, trusting my dad with my new found friends.
