I Guess We Tied, Didn't We? (Kai x Zane)

ZANE P.O.V.~

"Zane?"

"Yes Cole." I said, looking up from the book that I was reading.

"All of us are going into the city to get a few things, but you and Kai will be staying here."

I blushed. 'Kai!' I thought. 'Anybody but Kai!'

Kai was the one I had a crush on. The way his blood red eyes showed courage, showed passion. The way Kai puts himself in danger for you.

The way he cares for you.

"Zane?"

"Huh?!" I broke out of my thoughts. "Oh! Yes, I see! I'll be out there in a minute!"

Cole cocked an eyebrow at me. "Okay." Cole then left, without another word.

After a minutes or two, I got up and walked to the living room to see everybody ready to leave. I don't see Kai though.

"Sensei?" I ask, walking over to him.

"He's in the training room. While we're gone, I want you to train with him for a bit." Said Sensei, answering the question I never asked. I don't know how he did it.

"Yes Sensei." I then said goodbyes to everyone and when they left, I started to head towards the training room.

I became nervous, butterflies forming in my stomach, my face getting hot.

'Will Kai even like me in the the way I like him?' I thought. 'Was it obvious that I like him?'

I come back to the real world and see that I'm standing in front if the training room door. I slide the door open to see Kai beating up a dummy.

His fists striking fast, Kai never taking his eyes off the dummy, showing no mercy, as he does in battle. Kai showing concentration, showing that he isn't about losing, showing dedication.

Kai stopped and turned toward me, his red eyes softening.

"Hey Zane. What's up?"

"O-oh um Sensei told me to come train with you for a bit while he and everyone else went out to the city."

"Okay come join me." I blushed and walked over to Kai.

"Why don't we do some one on one Zane? Or do you need to warm up first?" Said Kai sarcastically.

"I'm ready to take you on anytime Kai." I said smiling.

"Okay. Then be prepared because I'm going to win." Said Kai as he got into his position.

"If you say so Kai." I laughed and got into my position.

"We'll start at three. Okay Zane?"

"Yes Kai."

"One..... Two......"

I looked at Kai to figure out his moves. His dominant hand and foot in front of him and his non-dominant hand and foot behind him. He could be doing any move. I look up and see Kai's mouth move, but I didn't care. I just wanted to figure out his move.

Coming to the real world again, I see Kai throwing out a punch. Before he could land blow, I moved to the side, dodging it.

Kai turned to me. "That was pretty good Zane. Can you dodge this though?"

Kai lifted his leg up so quick, even some of us can't block it in time, but this time was different. I block it with my arms. Kai was shocked.

"You are getting better Zane."
