"I'd rather die tomorrow than live a hundred years without knowing you." - John Smith ,

Pocahontas (1995)

I know. Tyler and I just talked this morning about me not getting affected by the people in his office. But damn! I cant help it! The stabbing glances they throw at me, the curses that they say silently in Malay, which I cant understand. But I know they don't like me. I don't have issues with the men, but the women? God help me. I've been inside this office for hours, just waiting for Tyler to come back from his meeting. I feel bored already, first day and all I want to do is just go home and cuddle with my boyfriend. But of course we cant do that, Tyler has to be here during office hours, and he wants me to be here. So I'll be here.

"You ready for lunch babe?" Tyler says cheerfully as he enter the room.

"Yup! Never been ready." I stand up and give him a hug.

"So, how's everything going so far? Are you bored?" He chuckles as we walk out of his office.

"Yeeah. A bit bored. I'm really not used to just sitting my ass off all day you know." I sigh and I know Tyler can sense the frustration in my voice.

"Hey, if you want I can take you shopping today. What do you think?" He stops in front of his car and face me.

"Nah. They need you here. I think I'll just stay at home and make use of your extravagant kitchen appliances. I want to bake." I smile at him.

"That would be a great idea." He opens the car door for me and I sit there happily excited to use that kitchen. Tyler settled in his chair.

"Can I borrow your phone? I need to text Jasmine, I forgot to inform her about the meeting with Mr. Reynolds tonight. We need that event to be closed." He nods and handed me his phone. I sent Jaz a text message and hand him back the phone while he drives around to look for a place to eat.

"Just hold on to it babe." He says. The phone dings just before I tuck it inside my pouch.

"Must be Jaz." I said as I open the inbox. But no, not Jasmine. It says, Vanessa. Vanessa? The girl who dragged me out of the office? I frown and glance at Tyler.

"So? What did she say?" Tyler asks when I didn't say anything.

"Its not Jaz. It's Vanessa." I said just looking at her name. I didn't open the message not wanting to go over the board for being too nosy and act silly in front of Tyler. Instead I keep my calm composure and hand him the phone.

"Vann? Can you read it for me? Must be the about the meeting earlier." He shakes his head.

I open the message and my brows furrow as I read her message.

I'll see you later. Thanks for the time.

"What did she say?" Tyler said, and I just glare at him.

"Did you really go to a meeting earlier? or was it a one-on-one meeting with Vanessa?" I hand him the phone but he didn't accept it, so I place it on his thigh and he grabs it before it falls to the floor. I am not supposed to be affected, but seeing that text from her? Forget about being calm.

"Look, it's not what you think it is. That's nothing babe." He says weakly while touching my thigh.

"What is it then? Doesn't look like nothing to me though." I smirk at him. First day, and this is what I get. What's gonna happen next? Can I survive this place? I'm suddenly doubtful about the decision that I made for leaving Corona and face a new life in Singapore.
