The day Stacey left my apartment, I was a total mess. I cant concentrate with work. My life is a constant struggle without her. I thought I would be relieved when I told her I am letting her go. I guess I was wrong. Now I have to suffer the consequences. She's happy now. Moving on. While I am a mess, a huge mess.
Its a good thing I accepted dad's offer to visit our newly opened Canada branch. Brandon is taking a time off and is now back in Singapore for some personal emergency.
I lie on my bed on this hotel room that will be my home to awhile. Were not sure yet when Brandon will be back, I just want to make sure that the branch is stable since its still struggling as of the moment.
I lazily scan the news paper, Gazette. An idea struck me that would greatly help with our rise here in Canada. Advertisement.
I look at my watch, past noon. I have to meet these people behind the newspaper so I can discuss about the advertisement options.
"I am Mr. Tyler Johnson from Evergreen Shipping and I have an appointment with your PR manager Mr. Jason Nadal." I say as the receptionist looks up at me.
"Just a moment, Mr. Johnson..." The blonde holds up the telephone receiver as she speaks."Mr. Nadal, your one o'clock is here...Okay.. Mr. Johnson, please follow me to Mr. Nadal's office. He's expecting you." The blonde receptionist smiles sweetly at me."
I look around on my way to Mr. Nadal's office, checking out the hustle of people. Everyone's busy today. It's a Monday and its given that everyone should be on their toes. I know that personally since managing a company is not an easy task. People are asking why I do most of the business meetings instead of handing it to my assistant. Why? Because I learn and grow at the same time when I'm hands-on with my dealings.
The blonde knocks on the door and ushers me inside.
"Mr. Johnson. I'm Jason, PR Manager for Gazette. Please take a seat." He shakes my hand and extend his arm to a chair in front of his desk.
"Thank you." I settle on the chair and sigh deeply.
"I was surprised to have this meeting with you today, I thought I would be dealing with one of your assistants." He smiles at me. I have a strong feeling that this man is... well, he's not into women. If you know what I mean.
"Yes. I do these type of things personally."
"That's great to hear. So, I believe you want to talk about our advertisements for your company?"
"Yes. I'm not too familiar with advertising, especially here in Canada, so I would be needing your help. As you can see, Evergreen Shipping is one of our baby branches across the globe. And my family and I would really want to promote the shipping line. What options do you have for me?" I hate small talks especially in meetings like this. I always go straight to the point and end it fast.
"Not a problem at all. You're talking to the right person. Before we proceed, since this is a rising company, is there any specific topic that you would like to discuss like the cost? This would actually give us a narrower selection for our options." This guy means business. I like it.
