Tyler

"Okay? Mommy, daddy, are we ready?" I swear I can feel my heartbeat with my ears as Richard places some gel on Stacey's belly. Her bump looks really sexy on her.I can't believe that she's still in doubt of what I feel for her. I felt a little hurt earlier when she introduced me as the father of her baby, and not as her boyfriend.

"Yes. Super ready." Stacey grips my hand tight as we nod to Richard who is now placing a device over her belly. Moving it around while he studies the monitor.

"Healthy baby...Good...Now let me just get some snapshots here....Okay...If we could just make it move a little...so we can..." Richard murmurs as he moves the device. Come on!

"What is it?" I ask impatiently. Stacey giggles, her eyes glued on the monitor.

"Patience Johnson...." Richard chuckles and I just sigh loudly.

"Are we gonna get a copy of those shots? I need some to send to my parents." Stacey starts to get teary-eyed the moment I mentioned my parents. I already told mom and dad that they're gonna be grandparents, but I haven't told them yet that its Stacey from next door in Corona.

"I'm sure they're gonna be thrilled...." Richard murmurs as he pushes some buttons on the machine..."Oops! There it is....Congratulations mom and dad....it's a boy!" My hand tighten against Stacey's small hand. I'm speechless. I can't believe how real this feeling is. I'm gonna be a dad, to my son. To my son.

"What? Why so quiet now? Swallowed your tongue, Tyler?" Richard chuckles when I just keep on smiling at him. I lean to kiss Stacey on her lips and that's when I feel the rush of emotion between us. She starts sniffing back her tears, I swear I can feel my eyes hurt from the tears I'm trying to hold.

"I'm gonna be a daddy." I whisper against her ear and she just nods her head.

"I'm gonna let you clean her up. I know you wouldn't want me to touch her." Richard hands me a box of napkins.

"No way you touch a part of her skin Rick." I turn around so I can partly cover Stacey with my broad body.

"Okay, I'll be outside, just come follow me once you guys are done so we can discuss a few things." He nods at Stacey who still looks tongue tied like me.

"Thanks doc." Stacey smiles at Richard. Finally having her voice back.

"We're having a boy..." I gleefully kiss her cheek the moment Ruchard is out of sight. She chuckles when I pull her up for a hug.

"I know..." She laughs when I kiss her.

"Now you and I little guy are gonna have so much fun. I promise." I whisper against her belly as I lean forward to wipe the messy gel off her creamy skin. Did I just feel her tummy move?

"Did you feel it?" Stacey's eyes widen.

"Yeah. Is that him?" My smile reaches my eyes when I realize I felt my son move for the first time.

"I sure hope so. Talk to him again. I think he likes your voice." Stacey whispers as I wipe off the last part of her tummy. I lean closer as I put my ear against her bump.

"Hey little buddy, it's me. Your super cool daddy. How you doin there son?" Stacey's eyes start to water as I look at her while talking to her tummy. "I know it's pretty boring in there, but don't worry, I'll make sure mom and dad will talk to you often. I heard babies as young as you can already hear. And I'll make sure I'll have mommy eat a lot of yummy treats for you..." I feel it. I swear I felt my little boy move inside her mommy's belly.

"Oh my God! That's pretty strong! I felt it clearly this time." Stacey squeals covering her mouth with her hand.

"Me too... I can't wait to get you home and talk to him all day if he keeps on doing that..." I rub her belly and I feel it move again. We laugh together at how responsive he is to my voice.

"I already have a feeling that he's gonna be a daddy's boy." Stacey shakes her head as I help her out of the bed.

"What's wrong with that? Are you jealous?" I smile at her.

"No! Of course not. I'm happy that you're happy." She says as I pull her close for a hug.

"Anything for you baby. You are my happiness. Now with this little guy in here, my life is gonna revolve around you two. Always." She giggles when I pinch her nose lightly. "Now let's get over to Richard so we can have that talk that you owe me." She rolls her eyes at me as I lead her out of the room to where Richard is.

"How come you're in Canada? I thought you're in Singapore?" Richard asks when we sat down in front of his desk.

"I'm just here to fill up the manager's position for some time. I'm still going back in Singapore." I feel Stacey's shoulders tense up when I said that. Sh*t! I haven't told her yet that I only have a couple of weeks left here.

"Oh. So I presume Stacey's having the child in Singapore then?" Richard eyes Stacey.

"No. I'm having it here. I have my job, everything here anyway." She shrugs. What the hell!

"No, you're coming with me." I whisper and she just looks at me. I'm in deep trouble. She's mad.

"Okay. It's too soon to decide. But whatever your decision is, Stacey can't fly to Singapore anymore when she's between 7-9 months. The aviation security wouldn't allow her to do that. So you guys better decide on this sooner." Richard says directly at me.

"We'll talk about it." I say as I spare a glance at Stacey who is just shaking her head and looking away around the room but me.

"Okay, now the baby is very healthy, just the right weight, and the progress is very good. As soon as now, I would need you to do some exercise, you can enroll to some yoga classes for pregnant women, or Lamaze classes to help with your labor. I have here a list of accredited people that you can contact for that. Same schedule for your next appointment next month. Okay?"

"Okay. Thanks." Stacey clears her throat as she speaks with Richard. They have discussed a couple fo things that she can and she can't do. Stacey's not really happy with some but she agrees to it in the end.

As soon as we step out of the clinic I can feel Stacey's eyes shoot daggers at me. I'm starving, but we have to talk.
