~Chapter 16~
(Vanessa’s POV)
“Oh my God, this is amaaaaazing!” I yelled standing up in the roofless jeep nearly stepping on Chase’s thigh. “Will you sit down?” he begged laughing. Our driver briefly looked back at us and chuckled a little at me with my arms raised to the sun. Being here in Aruba was like being in a paradise. I’ve been a lot of places in the world trust me. Aruba though, something made this place feel like sovereignty. “Mili sit down!” Chase said tugging at my lime green high low skirt. I sat down laughing into his chest. “Oh live a little. We’re in Arubaaaaa!” I screamed. I admit, I had a couple of Daiquiri’s before we loaded our stuff onto the jeep. Probably explains why I feel so loopy right now. “So listen. Remember when we were younger, and there was that one thing you said you had to do before you die?” Chase asked.
“Have sex with Eric Benet?” I answered. He shot a look at me. I guess that was far from the answer he was expecting. I laughed and began thinking. “Ughh…I don’t know Chase!” I whined. “I said a lot of things back in those days! I wanted to be a model, I wanted to buy Paris, I wanted to live in a big mansion by the beach and own a village of beautiful cultured people who—”
“Bingo,” he said making a gun with his fingers as he shot at me.
“What? A mansion by the beach?”
“Yeah,” he said with a big grin on his face.
“Chase…what are you doing? I know that face! What did you do?!?” I asked exited shaking him.
He laughed at me and refused to look me in the eyes. He turned his head to the windowless door, “Just sit back and enjoy the ride.” I couldn’t just ‘enjoy the ride’ after that. Something was up that boy’s sleeve. I knew him oh too well. What did he do? I was anxious to know. I realized we left our normal path on the regular streets of Aruba and into a beautiful abyss of wild life. It was a jungle…no a forest…more like a rain forest of palm trees and beautiful wild flowers that I’ve never seen before. Trees and shrubs full of fresh fruit and birds. Birds that I’ve never even seen before. The wild life was beautiful. “Chase this is beautiful! Look! Look at that bird!” I yelled pointing as the pretty bird flew away. The forest began to draw thinner and thinner as we were soon put back on a cement road.”Oh my God! No…NO! HELL NO! Chase you didn’t!” I shrieked standing up in the roofless jeep once again. There was a large gateway in front of us that ran far down on both ends and led into a stoned wall. There were two men standing at the beautifully large gate. I wrapped my arms around Chase’s neck and hugged him tight. “What is this?” I shrieked. The jeep was parked and our driver immediately began unloading our things as a man wearing some orange and red get up, looking something similar to your modern day Aladdin, brought a very fancy and large bellhop luggage cart.
“Bon bini Meneer Andrews! Con ta c'e bida?” the Aladdin looking guy asked.
“Tur cos ta bon Dawid, danki,” Chase responded. The man walked away cheerfully loading up the cart with our things.
“Hey, what language was that?” I asked him feeling out of the loop.
“Papiamento, it’s the native tongue here,” he said. I watched the men load our things on the carts and the two men standing at the door began to open the doors of the gate. I looked at the amazingly beautiful mansion in front of me. My eyes were automatically fixed on the large fountain that spewed out crystal clear water. “I freakin love you! Oh my God! Chaaaaase!” I shrieked and wrapped my arms around his neck tightly. Mwah mwah mwah mwah mwah mwah! my lips sounded, as I kissed Chase repeatedly all over his face, avoiding anywhere near his lips. “This is so beautiful!” I yelled. “How? How did you do this?” I asked him astonished.
